Art. Since a young age I have always had the need to express myself through art. I went through many stages. Scrapbooking. Sewing. Ceramics. H**p wrapping. But through it all I found that painting was the best form of expression for what I was trying to get across.
I started painting as my primary form of expression about 3 years ago. Using representational art through colors, the human form, animals and space. Something to make sense of all these emotions, thoughts and feelings that are constantly swimming around in my head.
I had phases, like the moon, where I was just overcome by inspiration. And created nonstop. Life would catch up with me and I was no longer living in my dream...but in the real world. Uninspired.
This past year has been the biggest journey for me. On January 1st 2018 at 12:30 AM I fell while I was dancing, celebrating The New Year with friends. I broke my right wrist. My dominant hand. I broke both bones in the wrist, directly where the wrist connects to the forearm. I was rushed to the ER. I was told I would need surgery. And there was a chance I might not get full motion and movement back in my wrist. A titanium plate and 4 pins were surgical installed in my wrist. I spent 4 months total in casts. 6 weeks of physical therapy. I had to relearn to write....draw...and ultimately paint again. Although I was in despair, through out this entire 5 month period, I knew it had all happened for a reason. So I could find my strength again.
