Our Story
Founded November, 2013 in Meander, Tasmania at the foothills of The Western Tiers. Yes it can be a bit chilly, even snow but it’s the most peaceful, picturesque part of the world. It’s been a family dream to breed coloured (black & white) horses and our initial start up with Warmbloods came quite by chance with the offer from a NSW breeder we simply couldn’t refuse. Owning two of the most stunning "Tobiano Warmblood Mares" in Australia by "What's Colour (Imp) AKA “TomTom" - EBL Wonce Upon a Time AKA "Tikka" & EBL Witchcraft AKA "Witchy" has been a dream come true. We have also purchased another beautiful warmblood tobiano mare, Kenlock Pandora AKA “Panda” who’s sire was the amazing imported tobiano WB stallion “Chess M” who passed away 2014 only 6 months after arriving in Aust. These 3 mares along with EBL Rumba AKA “RumBall” (Witchy & Gandolf’s dam), BPHS Majesta AKA “Jilly” and in the future little BPHS Mazikeen are our studs broodmares. SOS (ImpOld) pictured above, is our Coloured Tobiano Stud Stallion who is the most amazing boy with such a gentle nature which he passes onto his progeny being our homebred BPHS Gandolf**, BPHS Mazikeen & BPHS Smudge so far. We take great pride in breeding PURE AUST (WB over WB) Coloured Sport Horses for your riding experience no matter which discipline you choose to compete in. We prefer to breed Warmblood mares with a Warmblood Stallion (SOS) opposed to using TB mares for the perfect calm, trainable progeny, BPHS Gandolf** has proven this is. BPHS Mazikeen is 1/4 Friesian which has proven to be a nice fit also of a Coloured Sport Horse. We also have Valix Jack a young 14.2hh Friesian X tobiano stallion who we currently put over a select few of our mares with the hope of getting ponies for younger/smaller competitors. Jack is proving to be a surprise sire with his latest foal BPHS Pumbaa standing at 15.3hh at 12 months of age & coloured.
Witchcraft is our only competition horse, she was on lease until the Covid-19 thing happened. She will be going into foal this breeding season to our sweet gentleman SOS, being a maiden mare she will be closely monitored. Her half sister Wonce Upon A Time (Tikka) is due to foal with her SOS baby late 2020. Witchy had a brilliant start to her mainland campaign in 2016 at the Boneo Cup, VIC winning a 1st & 2nd place rosette in showjumping before scumming to an abscess which ruled her out of the 2016 Aust Showjumping Championships and other events during her 6 week tour. Witchy has taken to X country like water off a ducks back and is now competing in ODE’s along with her Showjumping. Although not proficiently trained in Dressage she has shown excellent talent in this discipline.
We do not breed every season to allow us the time required to train our purposed bred foals, who will be offered for purchase or lease to competition homes. 2020 is going to be the same with us only expecting 2 foals, fingers crossed for a bit more colour!
