All 5 of Nala’s puppies will be off on their new adventures starting tomorrow! Everybody always asks how we can do it. How we get through that. It’s hard. It always is especially because we always have our favorite puppies but the truth is at 8 weeks these guys need more space and experiences. They are ready for the next step in their socialization journey. It is especially important for Bernese to have purposeful and appropriate socialization as puppies. More on that in a future post but for now we are in a bitter sweet headspace. I love and hate these days but the joy it brings the families that are so excited that it’s their “ gotcha day” is worth it!

I wish there was a date in this! Check out the typewriter, Wite-out and spelling 😂😂😂. I wasn’t far off though! Switch out the golden retrievers for Bernese Mountian dogs and two girls for three boys and we are in business!
God had a plan even when I was in single digits. He planted this desire in my heart and it’s so fulfilling to know I’m right where He wants me to be. Nothing about life is easy, the grind is real and exhausting at times but there is just a different level of fulfillment to know it’s all in His hands and part of His plan.

Bernese just have the sweetest disposition. With all of our stud dogs (who all live in guardian homes with families and most with other dogs), you’d never know they were intact unless you looked. They are just so sweet and submissive. They make like easy! So thanks Arlo, Lux, Major, R***r, Norman, Blu, Zeke, Walter, Torben, and Odin!..

Well, it happens. Life throws twists and turns and sometimes people have to make the hard decision and say, the timing isn’t right for our family right now. One of our families on the list for a female from Nala and Major had to make that call.
Since we wait until the 7.5 week mark (after temperament testing is complete) to make the final picks, we aren’t sure which one of these girls will be up for grabs but one of them will be! If you’d like to be added to our list for one of these females, shoot us a message! They will be ready to head home Sunday, Aug 25.
This whole litter is headed to the vet today for their checkup! This is always a fun little first adventure for them. Don’t forget we are always happy to chat on the phone and FaceTime if you’d like to see them!

They will go home the last weekend in September so just in time for hot tea ☕️, cozy fall cloths 🧤🧣, and a cool weather loving puppy 🍂🍁!
Ivy and Major welcomed 5 girls and 6 boys. We do still have room on this litter list so please feel free to reach out and FaceTime to see them!

Our Nala x Major pups are almost 6 weeks already!?! Time just flies! We have their vet visit coming up this week, temperament testing next week and then they start heading home!

It’s that time! 4 weeks marks the big move from our living room to our puppy room! The weaning process has begun, they have a distinct potty vs play space, they are eating softened kibble and have full access to water, new toys and obstacles will be introduced on a scheduled basis. Life is good here ♥️All of their basic needs as well as developmental needs are being met.

We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our latest litter of Bernese Mountain Dog puppies! It took a good 5 days for Nala’s milk to come in so we’ve been busy making sure puppies are gaining weight nicely. Well, now that they are fat and chunky, here they are!

What happens when our big city HUNK meets our sweet country lady? MAGIC!
A little background on these two. Let’s start with Major. We imported Major’s mom from Russia and his dad from the Czech Republic. Obviously, it was a wonderful pairing producing this superstar. He’s super confident, outgoing and basically down right arrogant 🤣🤷🏼♀️. He knows he’s a looker and enjoys the deserved attention from everyone. Major lives with a fun family, his Bernese brother Torben (future stud for us also) golden retriever brother R***r and the newest addition, his human baby. He’s never far from his tiny human brother. He takes his self appointed babysitting duties very seriously.
Next is our sweetest Ivy. We imported her mom from Poland and her dad from the Czech Republic. Ivy lives with my aunt who’s passionate about dressing up her three dogs for whatever season it is. Ivy is more of an introvert rather than a crowd j***y but she’s a lover. Ivy is an easy girl to love because she returns that love to her people if you are one of her chosen ones.
So we are going to be greedy 🤣. We are planning to keep a boy along with a girl or two back for our program. Depending on how many she has, her litter might be filled by our waitlist but we will know more as her pregnancy progresses!
Another fun fact! She’s due on my birthday!!!! Happy birthday to me!!!! 🤣🥳🫶🏻🤗

📣Guys! We’d love to introduce you to Blu!
📣💙Blu has officially started his breeding career with us!
🥳He’s genetically clear, passed his hips, elbows and cardiac and has an outgoing, never met a stranger, up for anything kind of personality. As you can see, his family loves to get him out and about!
If you get to the last pic, you might be able to guess who his first girlfriend is! But maybe not! Here’s your hint. Her name stays with a “w” and ends with an “illa” 🤣. As long as she is pregnant, this will be Willa’s retirement litter so we will be looking for a guardian home or two for her babies with Blu!

He was the green 💚 boy but now is Eddie! Here’s what his mama has to say! 🥰
“Two weeks with Eddie & we couldn’t love him more! He’s doing so great walking with a harness. He knows his name and sits. Potty training and sleep have been a breeze. He loves being brushed and snuggled. We appreciate you & Bernese Boutique more than words! 💗”

It’s that time! 4 weeks marks the big move from our living room to our puppy room! To us, there is no other way. There are no other options for our program. We don’t have a kennel setting for our mamas and our papas (and never will). All of our dogs either coexist in our home or live in guardian homes. I just can’t imagine any other way to grow a program!Yes, they are all crate trained because that’s a skill I believe in for so so many reasons but the majority of the time is spent chilling in our kitchen or playing in our yard. There’s never a dull moment but that’s the way we like it. So, as a puppy buyer, how important is that to you? Some friends stopped over the other day. They got to see and feel what a Bernese is all about. The high human focused, calm, loving nature of a Bernese. The desire to just be near you and make you happy. This is how this boy will always look into your soul. This is where it all began. Our older Bernese and our youngest son. They have always had and continue to have the most unbelievable bond. She’s getting up there in years and the bond is only getting stronger. I’m not looking forward to the dreaded day… we have never had go through that with our children so any advice would be great appreciated. Back in the day, I (Becky) spent almost all my time as a #stayathomemom . I wouldn’t trade the time I had with my littles for anything. When the youngest went to school full time, it was my turn to chase a passion. This is when our breeding days began! We knew the investment of every kind would be huge but so worth it. And it was. We LOVE what we do. We consider it a huge honor to get to share the kind of love a #bernesepuppy has to offer. 😎 So we will be here! We will be here to prepare you before puppies go home, holding your hand once they do, and helping when the time comes to get a second, third and even a fourth puppy down the road. We do get this questions fairly often. When I answer these types of questions I always start with the same word: GENERALLY Generally is so important! We can talk about the breed as a whole but there are always exceptions. A lot has to do with the innate makeup of a breed but a lot has to do with the early formative months of an individual puppy. Now, to answer the question at hand, GENERALLY Bernese are great with cats. Usually, they have a pretty low prey drive and are a kind and gentle breed with other animals. I say that but I’ve also watched one of our girl end one of our chickens in 4.5 seconds illustrating my point. Generally they are low prey drive. Not always. The best thing to do is remember that the each animal relationship is unique. There are things you can do to set them up for success in the first few interactions. 1. Keep the first few meeting short and sweet 2. Keep the puppy on a leash (on the ground, not in your arms) and let the cat freely come and go. 3. It’s our job as pet parents to mediate these meeting and allow space for each animal. We never want either one to feel cornered. 4. Remember, this is a transition time. Transitions can be very stressful so recognizing that they can be taxing on the front end but rewarding on the back end is important. Major demonstrates so beautifully that Bernese are able to be the best scratching posts know to catkind!
