I’m ALWAYS more than happy to help ANYONE who wants to find an ethical breeder. All you have to do is ask!
It takes almost no time and I’m always happy to answer ANY question you have.
You found a breeder you like but you’re not 100% sure? Send me their kennel and I’ll double check for you.
You’re interested in a purebred but you’re not sure what breed will best fit your lifestyle? Well tell me how much time you can put into grooming, training, and exercise and we will narrow it down to a few breeds.
You’ve never looked into purchasing from a breeder but you’re interested? Ask me anything and I’ll tell you what it’s like and what’s to be expected.
You want a second set of eyes for the contract with your breeder? Send it on over and we can go over it together!
I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP.
Please just ask, unethical breeders are much too damaging to all pure breeds to continue to be unknowingly supported through lack of consumer knowledge.
And yes, I will also help you find a RESPONSIBLE RESCUE. One who is purely in it to help dogs in need!
There are many rescues who purchase from irresponsible breeders and then "adopt" the puppies out at a higher cost than what they paid. They will lie and say it is to help cover costs of other dogs. This is called RETAIL RESCUE.
Therefore Retail rescue STILL supports irresponsible breeding practices!
ADOPT or SHOP,
just do so RESPONSIBLY!

Happy 2025 New Year to Gracerok Friends and puppy owners!! Thank you for all your support and here's to a happy and abundant 2025!! 🥂🍾

Bringing in the new year with this little nutbar (Brooke -- Grimm x Lyric 2024) and feeling grateful for 2024 and the opportunity to enter 2025!

Around here 2024 was pretty low-key. There were a few highlights though...
- We only attended two dog shows!! 😲 One with Sienna in the Spring to earn a few points and one this Fall with Brooky the baby puppy.
- Lyric's litter with Grimm was the main focus of 2024 and so grateful for such amazing puppies and amazing new homes and of course my sweet little keeper, Brooke.
-Brooke really took to his agility foundations training and showed like a little rock star...I am hoping for some more fun times with him learning agility and maybe a few dog shows in 2025.

Thank you for being great homes for Gracerok doggos and for those who are simply supporting this page!! All the best to you for 2025 and I hope the year brings everything you wish for!!

MYTH: "Don’t take your puppy anywhere until they're fully vaccinated."

FACT: "The primary and most important time for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. For this reason, the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior believes that it should be the *standard of care* for puppies to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated. Behavioral issues, not infectious diseases, are the number one cause of death for dogs under three years of age." (AVSAB Position Statement on Puppy Socialization)

FACT: If you wait until your puppy is full vaccinated, you've missed their critical socialization period.

Vets, rescues and breeders who are clinging to the outdated belief that dogs should be prevented from socialization until fully vaccinated are not keeping up with the current research, literature and recommendations from behavior professionals.

Trying again to upload, facebook is giving me a hard time yet again! Just some cute videos of Brooke practicing puppy agility, he's getting good at feet in bucket, perch on stool and fitpaws disc, tunnel, tire, beginner weaves, and 2 jumps.
Soon we'll add some contact obstacles for nose touch and work on different sequences, build forward focus and speed! Ignore me I'm suffering back pain right now so I can't run(!) and also that was a wiiiide angle lens so not flattering, LOL!!
Brooke is a very good boi!!

This!! Especially for Aussies! They are just as satisfied and content after a couple of good 10 to 15 minute training sessions a day. They need to use their brains as much as have their 30 minute walks and 10 minutes of a good run and play. And it's super easy to work in a little training sesh with each walk.

Don't over exercise your dogs. Especially those under 2 years old, sustained repetitive forced exercise on a young dog is well known to cause issues with their movement, joints, muscle and ligament development and leads to bigger problems for them later in life.

Happy Sunday! I just had to share this super sweet photo of 6 month old Jinx (was Bunny) from the Grimm x Lyric litter, Brooke's littermate!! She is living the goodlife with her family in Hamilton. Isn't she a beauty??! 🤩

Back from a fun dogshow weekend with friends at Trillium KC in Lindsay.

Brooke got to play show dog in Baby Puppy class and went Best Baby Puppy in Breed x 2 and got to play in Group twice, a really good experience for him! 🤩 He showed like a seasoned pro even though this was his very first ever dog show and we only made it to 2 handling classes!! He's such a good boi!

Herding breed expert judge Glenn Stark gave him BBPIB over 2 other baby puppies and gave him a REALLY good look in Group today but the cute little corgi was the well deserved winner again. That's likely it for us until next Spring. 😊

Yes, this little floofy butt is getting ready for his first ever CKC show this weekend and his last chance to go out as a baby puppy!! That will likely be it for us until the Spring. 💐🌺🍂
We're looking forward to having some fun ring time together and re-connecting with our dog show friends!! Don't forget to drop by to say hi! :-)

It is up to us to learn how to read and understand our dogs and find out what they need so they understand what we want them to do.

HOW???? Read a book! Read articles! Watch videos! Take a class!! Ask your breeder!! It's not rocket science, it's dog science. ;-)
