At less than a year old, Winston is one of the most well-rounded dogs. We simply can’t imagine him giving his last owners a problem to put him in the shelter because he is such a great dog.
Winston is amazing with other dogs on and off the leash, great with kids, and walks nicely on a leash. He knows basic commands such as sit, down, and paw.

He is house trained and would make a great addition to any family.

If we had a trophy for good boys to give out, Simon would get one! Simon is approx 6 years old and 97lbs. He is great on a leash and is eager to please. He knows basic commands and love treats and he’s friendly with meeting new people.

FOSTER NEEDED!

Pebbles is less than 4 mos old. She is sweet and cuddly and loves other dogs. She is a beagle/pug/lab mix of some sort (based on the pics of the parents) and was displaced due to the Eaton fires.

We are looking for a foster:
-local to Orange County (for any vet visits for shots)
-has another dog in the house (dog must be current on shots and spayed/neutered)
-willing to love on Pebbles like their own until adoption

FOSTER NEEDED

This is 4 year old Funfetti. He is your typical Pomeranian and is giving main character vibes .

Funfetti was surrendered to the shelter due to some financial hardships and lack of time from his owner. He was raised as a single dog to a single woman so he has no experience with kids however he has been great with the other dogs at the rescue but wouldn’t mind being the only dog. He is extremely sweet with people.

He would benefit from being housed with a human who will continue to work on his leash manners and will love on him.

We are thrilled to introduce the first paid staff member of the Mutts in Need rescue board (we were previously a volunteer-ran rescue)!

While some might question his qualifications due to his age, we believe he is incredibly trainable and eager to take on his new role.

Meet Mr. B (or Brillo, if you know him more casually). He is excited to step into the position of our main rescue coordinator and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the team!

Your generous, tax-deductible donations will continue to cover the ongoing medical expenses and daily care of the dogs in our rescue. So as part of his compensation, Brillo will be paid in TPH (treats per hour) rather than USD currency.

Tina is a 2 year old, 26lb terrier.
Rescued from a high-kill shelter, Tina has acclimated well in her foster. She’s got a few tricks up her sleeve (like “sit” and “shake”) and will happily show you in exchange for treats.

She’s is sweet, cuddly, and friendly. She gets along with dogs and people and has such a gentle demeanor.

🚨🚨FOSTERS DESPERATELY WANTED 🚨🚨
We’ve been busy and working back with the shelter staff at San Bernardino on borrowed time for some dogs!

We get so many people messaging us to pull shelter dogs all the time so we’re asking if those exact people can help us share this post.

We NEED fosters. However long you can foster (minimum 3 weeks), if there’s dogs we desperately need fosters for, it’s these ones. Our boarding is full and our current normal fosters already have dogs so we’re asking for help! If you currently aren’t fostering but normally do or are looking to foster, please apply at MuttsinNeed.org

Canis (A57079) - 2 year old male

All dogs ranges from 37-50lbs and are very sweet but very stressed. They came as part of a 30 dog hoarding case and are all related. We’ve already rescued 2 of the 30 dogs from this case and we found out there are still more waiting at the shelter aka these 4! We can’t commit to them without a foster or if you can sponsor them at $25/day for 2 weeks or until something opens for boarding then we can pull them sooner!

This sweet girl is Pip!
To no fault of her own, Pip found herself with us due to her family moving to a place where pets weren’t allowed. Pip is approx 6-8 mos old and under 25lbs. She still has her playful, puppy energy.

This pretty girl is as spunky and affectionate as they come. If she could crawl into your skin, she would. She loves cuddling and physical touch is her love language.

She is great with other dogs and loves playing with new friends. She greets new people with tail wags and kisses and she will most definitely sit when you’re holding treats. Pip’s ideal home will have a family that will take her on adventures or have another playful dog at home.

This studmuffin is Bryce. With his long body and shorter legs, our best guess is he’s a Corgi/Terrier mix.

Bryce is approx 2 year and 38lbs and just a character. He was found as a stray but don’t let that fool you because he’s great with other dogs, friendly on the leash, and loves meeting new people.

He loves a good treat and a good couch to curl up on.

Chango is approx 10 years old. He prefers reading his newspaper on Sunday mornings getting head scratches, sunbathing on the front porch, and going on his daily walks to visit the nearby cafe for his oat milk cappuccino.

Chango is a low maintenance dog and He’s under 15lbs and his breed? Maybe a long-legged Pomeranian mix.
He can co-exist with other dogs happily but prefers the company of humans and enjoys curling up after a good walk.

URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED (Please fill out an app or email us by EOD Tuesday 3/25)

We have been asked to find fosters for these 3 puppies as they are not yet ready for adoption. What we do know about them is they are approx 3 months old and only have one set of vaccines so far.

The foster must be local to Orange County, CA and either foster in pairs OR have a friendly dog (must be fixed and current on vaccines)

Cody and Comet (along with their brother Cole who was adopted last year) were found in a box on the side of the road as puppies. They came to our rescue after being found where volunteers showed them love and immediately started working with them. We knew they were going to be big and grow fast but we’re so proud of the work Steve, our Rescue president and trainer, has put into working with them. Despite their breed being known for being high-energy, Cody and Comet are such great boys and are far from unruly. They are silly, great with kids, house-trained, know basic commands, and are amazing on leash. They are well-loved with the other dogs at the rescue and would love to find their forever home(s) in 2025. This is 14 year old Kelly and we’re hoping her forever people are out there. Kelly came to us after her owner passed away. Her owner’s daughter came to us asking for help, as she was in rehab, and was in no position to take Kelly in. You can tell Kelly was so loved by her previous owner. Kelly is 14 years old and loves sunbathing, hanging out with other dogs, and playing with her stuffed animals. Her next family will be given the bag of stuffed animals she came to us with, which are the only thing she has left from her last home. We always pray extra hard for our senior dogs that really gone thru it and deserve to spend their numbered days in a loving home. Foster needed for S’mores

Foster needed! If you’re available to foster, we need at least a 3 week commitment, for 9 week old S’mores. Poor S’mores was being taken to the shelter when one of our transporters intervened and got her before she was dropped off. Another puppy that a family “had no time for”. A tale as old as time in the rescue world. 😪We’ll provide all the food and necessary supplies for S’mores if you can foster. Thank you FitPup Mobile Dog Gym for letting us check out the new digs!We’re so glad to have this enrichment option for the dogs in Orange County (and we knew Patsy couldn’t wait to try it out too!). There are so many cool reasons why we love Fit Pup, but these are our favorite 3 reasons: 1. it’s climate controlled (with this Orange County heat, going outside with your dog becomes strategic 🥵🔥) 2. Fit Pup uses a slatmill, which is a non-motorized treadmill that your dog controls how fast or slow they want to move becuase it’s powered by their movement. (So obviously Patsy ran her heart out when she learned she could control her speed! 💨💨) 3. Fit Pup comes to you! They serve the Orange County area so say goodbye to the excuse of not having time to be able to exercise your dog for the day. While we would continue to recommend bonding with your dog on the leash, we like to think of Fit Pup as an added enrichment for your dog, almost like a fun treat for them! But they are also a great option if you maybe don’t have a large yard and want your dog to be able to run, you have guests coming over and need to tire them out for the day, you got busy with work and aren’t able to physically stimulate your high-energy dog, or maybe you have a reactive dog that gets distracted easily.
