This is Mochi. I was called in to help walk him to cultivate good walking behaviour in him.
He is reactive to many triggers such as passer-bys, dogs, motorbikes, bikes, cars, etc.
How we behave will affect how a dog behaves. When we are calm and can assure the dog that it is safe with us, it can trust us and enjoy the walk in a more relaxed state of mind.
Mochi willl need frequent walks with me for me to shape his behaviour consistently.

Another successful training on dog reactivity to door knocks, doorbell rings and noises outside the door.
Luke (3yo) and Leia (1.5yo) made tremendous progress in just one session today.
It is more challenging when it is a multi-dog household but it’s still possible to train the woofies not to bark and be a nuisance to the neighbours.

Does your dog bark when the door bell rings or when someone knocks on the door?
I was called in to help with Ollie’s issues of barking incessantly when the doorbell rings and his separation anxiety.
In just one session, he made remarkable progress. He will stop barking on command and even went on to not even react to the doorbell rings.
I also taught him “Down” command within minutes coz he is a smart boy.
The last part of the training is working on his separation anxiety. His love for food is greater that his neediness, so he was totes ok when l left him a wee bit of peanut butter to lick while all the humans disappear out of his sight.

Once a month, I would take Pablo on a 2-hour fun excursion to explore new places.
Taking a dog out for walk is not just to exercise it, but should also be a fun activity for the dog. New sights and smells are super interesting to dogs, and that is why we should allow them to sniff around and explore.
Don’t forget to also allow your dogs to socialise (unless they have reactivity issues that you are currently working on to resolve).
Ollie’s 2nd Lesson
Ease of putting on harness, leave things alone, and learning to look at owner while on walks.
The owners were having such a hard time putting on the harness on Ollie prior to the training session. Ollie won’t be still and struggled a lot, while biting the harness. In just one session, the owners even proclaimed how easy it became to put on the harness.
I also taught them how to stop Ollie from “attacking” objects such as tissue paper, harness, dead leaves, shoes, etc.
We ended the session with a short walk outside to practise.

Meet Maru, a 5 month old Corgi pup.
Was called in to help the owners solve some of his puppy behavioural issues of toileting mistakes, coprophagia (eating his poo), annoying the other older dog at home, chewing on stuff.
We also did a session outside to teach him some basic walking manners.
Many issues can be prevented or alleviated easily when you get a professional dog behaviourist to guide you in a private session.

Meet Ollie, 3mo Schnauzer pup.
His mama had a training session prior to his arrival on 27 March to ensure she has the basic knowledge to welcome him into the family.
On 8 April, I did the first training sesh with Ollie. When I arrived, he couldn’t sit on command and was playbiting.
In just one session, he learnt to sit on command, go to bed and sit and wait for his reward.
I don’t just train the dog. What’s more important is to guide the hoomans. After teaching the adults, I got them to teach their son.
A well behaved dog is cultivated through discipline and consistency. I advocate training a dog/pup asap to prevent/alleviate common dog behavioural issues.
I always say owners should devote 1-2 months to training and life will be much easier after when the dog is well trained. A well behaved and balanced dog is a joy to be around.

My pursuit of fitness and health helps in my personal growth daily. Here’s my thought for today.
There are 3 things I avoid doing and I avoid people who do these things.
1. Gossip
If they talk bad things about others to you, they can talk bad things about you to others. Anyway, other people’s business is none of my business. I only need to take care of my own karma.
2. Complain
Stop complaining and stop being the victim. Learn and grow from it and move on with life. I speak from my personal experiences. Whenever I encounter a setback, I turn my thoughts to improving myself instead of complaining about it. My words and thoughts are being manifested daily, so I harness the power by converting negative to positive.
3. Negative
When a person gives out negative words, thoughts and vibes, he/she contaminates the good around them. I never hesitate to walk away from people, situations and organisations that have a negative impact on me. For this, I admire myself for the courage and ruthlessness in detoxifying my life.
I am truly thankful for all the difficult situations I have encountered; from health scare to depression, toxic workplace and bullies, friendship disappointments and business partnership failures. I have grown so much over the past 3 years and I truly love myself and my life now.
I looked better now than in my 20s. I am fitter now than I was an ultra runner, and without injuries. I am happier now as I have newfound gratitude more than ever.
I truly comprehend the meaning of “life is 10% of what happens to you, but 90% of how you respond to it that truly matters”.
Living in the present, learning from the past, and not let worrying about the future rob me of my inner peace.
L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore

A special 3-hour excursion walk with Pablo this morning.
We were blessed with good and cool weather for our morning exploration. I took him all the way to MBS, taking several water and food breaks, and took lots of awesome pics and vids.
As The Dog Alchemist, one of my missions in doing what I do is to create wonderful experiences for the dogs, while capturing the special moments for their owners to look back on.

Milo’s owner came to me for help with his reactivity towards other dogs and selected humans.
Milo (3yo Maltipoo) used to be a friendly dog until an unfortunate incident with a neighbourhood dog traumatised him.
A bigger dog that was off leash pounced on him and it resulted in paralysis of his hind legs. He had to undergo surgery and thankfully has since regained his mobility.
He developed reactivity towards other dogs and some humans as a result of his trauma. He will bark and lunge at other dogs, and will bare his teeth in an attempt to “scare” them away as “self defence”.
In today’s session, he went from not being able to stand the sight of other dogs to being able to walk alongside Butter, and even pose for photos together.
That is why I always urge dog owners to keep their dogs on leash. Your dog may be friendly, but my dog that is undergoing training may not be friendly or ready to be near other dogs.
We should also never judge other dogs that are reactive, for they may have traumatic experiences just like Milo did.
However, we can always work on rehabilitating the dog with the help of a professional. Don’t let your dog suffer while you suffer along with it. Get the help you need so you can improve the bond with your dog, and help your furkid become happy and balanced.

Luxe Dog Staycay is available to selectively only as Butter is old and I don’t want any dogs to stress her up at home.
Hence, the first pre-requisite is the woofy guest must get along well with Butter.
Chewie the Choco Lab is our 5th guest to date. He is a gentle giant at 31kg. Affectionate, well behaved, respectful of boundaries. I took him in last minute for a short stay over the New Year and I’m glad I did.
If I have to squeeze out some “faults”, then it would be:
1. When he drinks water, I will have puddle trails on the floor. 😂
2. He has no idea how big and strong he is, when he butts in between me and Butter coz he wants me to pet him too, his massive body will push Butter away on a bounce.😬
3. He sheds a lot but it’s not an issue for me coz I will just stick up the hair with my Muji cleaning system.😗
My kind of “dog boarding” is not for everypawdy as I only take in one client (max 2 dogs from the same owner) and give them the best. I treat your furkids like my own, and shower them with love and care, as well as discipline if needed.
I am not as cheap like commercial boarding facilities where they take in many dogs and they being confined in small areas, but I am also not exorbitant for what I provide, given that I am a professional dog behaviourist, trainer and owner with more than 13 years of experience.
I hope Butter gets to experience time with more woofies before her time is up. I want to create amazing memories for her and for me. ❤️

Happy Woofy New Year everypawdy!
I fell asleep before the year ended. Not surprising as my bedtime is usually 10pm-ish. Hence, I don’t have much of a social life these days, except with friends who can meet during the day. 😂
I started my 2024 dark and early, waking up at 5am to walk Butter & Chewie (our woofy house guest), followed by Astro, Oslo & Ellie.
I can’t help but feel grateful that I made it through another year thus far. I am happy everyday now and am glad I survived through the hard days.
Very excited to see what adventures and learnings 2024 would bring to me. Thanks for following my musings on IG thus far and being part of my journey. ❤️
