Distemper puppy

Distemper is on the rise. No one ever talks about the disadvantages of adopting shelter dogs. The number one disadvantage is the newly adopted pup breaking with diseases such as distemper or parvo virus. These pups come from unknown environments and are exposed to diseases or are incubating them. They are then vaccinated, stressed with surgery and often break with diseases once they come home. This heartbreaking video is a case of distemper from a puppy adopted from one of our local shelters shortly before I had to euthanize him after weeks of trying to treat him. Once distemper reaches the nervous system, nothing else can be done.
