Replacing top cover with DIY acrylic 2mm thickness sheet

The top cover of the nano aquarium tank is worn off and turning yellowish and becoming less opaque over time. I put up a replacement cover sheet.

Replaced both peltier chip sets. I wasn't sure which of the two were defective and decided to not take chances Since I have enough replacement for both I decided to go for it and also I needed to remove the chip sets to thoroughly clean the heat sinks and the surrounding components. Thermal grease is required to increase the heat transfer between the hot side of the chip to the heatsinks.

The main cooling system is the thermoelectric module consisting of the peltier chip set. When current is applied to the chip set then one side of it absorbs heat on its contact surface and the other side chilled to 0C

Disassembling the major components of the chiller which includes the core cooling unit,the heatsink, ventilation fan ,power supply unit and last but not least the front panel controller.

Okay,it takes a lot of patience, determination and passion to repair the aquarium chiller. I took my time to disassemble the chiller, removed the cover and document the process as detailed as possible.

Inevitably all aquarium water chillers will breakdown at some point of time due to wear and tear condition. I always like to keep spare accessories or standby replacement chillers for the tank.

Some fish are jumpers so it's a necessity to cover the aquarium with a top cover.
