Happy Hearts Pet Care My goal is to provide peace of mind by giving the best care for your pets in the comfort of your home When I was a kid, I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I have always enjoyed taking care of animals, but I could never figure out what I wanted to do when it came to having a job where I could be around them all the time. In my teens, and early 20’s, I wanted to work with ASPCA, (and just about any organization that was against animal cruelty, and for animal rescue) but I was always too sensitive when it came to seeing animals suffering, so I decided

to leave it to the pros. When I found out that pet sitting was a thing, I knew I had found my calling! I’ve been providing care for family pets since November 2017 and I look forward to caring for yours! I love animals with all my heart, and I have protected and provided for them since I was a little girl! Your fur babies are in good hands when they are with me!

Sadly, this heartbroken family lost their beautiful 7 year old Border Collie named Kindle on Wednesday when she suffocated in a chip bag. Wendy Jordan, a professional dog trainer, says, "I can’t write now. It’s too raw. I have warned people for years about Pet Suffocation. I’m a dog trainer/business owner by profession. And today, because I left a chip bag on a table, in an area I thought the dogs didn't have access to but knew they sometimes could get through, my best dog of my pack is gone. She opened the gate to the deck, went up the steps, got the chip bag, took it down the steps, even spilling some of the chips, and then somehow accessed the inside and suffocated. She was right beside my gate where she is used to entering and exiting the yard. I’m devastated. I may never buy a bag of chips again. I used to worry about this when my kids were young, and I warned my kids when they left home with their dogs, and yet one freak accident, and I’m the one it happens to."

Even though someone may already know about pet suffocation and take all safety precautions, accidents can still happen. We can only do our best. Kindle was a very determined pup. Her story will help save other pets from this happening to them. Please help us spread awareness. Thank you.

No need to toss them into the nearest pond, just help them cross the road in the same direction they were headed (either handle them safely or guide them)

🐢💜👍

P.S. - It’s possible you may be peed on if you pick one up. That happened to me last year 🫠

The temps are up and the turtles are out! You'd be one shell of a friend if you slow down for these reptiles that are on the move.

Turtles would appreciate your assistance as they traverse our roadways in search of mates and food. Here are some ways you can help turtles that you might spot on the road.

1. Drive slowly in areas where turtles frequent.

2. If you have to move a turtle be very careful when moving them (it could be injured or it could bite you depending on what species). If possible, sometimes it is best to just stand guard as the animal crosses the road on its own.

3. Always keep your own safety in mind – watch out for oncoming vehicles, signal properly when pulling over and recognize your surroundings first before working to help save an animal.

4. If the animal does need to be moved, put it down on the other side of the road in the same direction it was going.

5. Do NOT take it with you - please only focus on helping it get safely to the other side.
