UPDATE on Simba’s health. Last Friday he got an injection with antibiotics for his fever in case he had an infection. He was at the vet Monday night so they can take a blood and urine sample for more tests and we got the results. 1) his fever had been down for several days, his blood and urine was perfect. No signs of infection nor cancers nor anything else. So that was good news! 2) his blood doesn’t show any signs that the PKD is taking over his body. Echo’s show that he has 2 large cysts in his left kidney and small cysts in his right kidney BUT since there is still enough healthy tissue, they are still working fine. So that was good news as well Allah Shukur. We do have to have his blood checked every 4 months to follow up on the But now he is healthy, life is good, and we pray they both get to live another 10 years at least insh’Allah

Received a package today

This little guy was just diagnosed with or and we are all heartbroken. For now we hope to get his infections and fever under control and then we will think about how we can make his life the best one while he is still with us, which is hopefully for another couple of years insh’Allah. I am open to any tips/advice.

Simba gave us quite a scare this week! I came home Thursday from work, and noticed he didn’t come to say hi. Thinking he was sleeping, I let it slide. After an hour, he came and walked really slow, almost like a sloth. He couldn’t keep his eyes open, and he was hot. I took his temp, he was 39.8 C. So we took him to the emergency vet. She checked everything but couldn’t find anything wrong, except for his temp which was 40.8C. So she drew some blood and urine. His blood immediately showed a high white bloodcell countso we knew for sure he was fighting inflamation. We took him home after a shot of inflamation medicine, antibiotics and opiodes for the temp. We are now 2 days later and the urine sample showed inflamation of his blatter and high glucose. So when his antibiotics are done, we need to go back to check him for diabetes😔

If anyone has experience with diabetes and cats, send me a dm!
