11/1 puppy training
Did some training with the puppies tonight to prep for some upcoming trials and got to play some nosework and rally. Both Pyro and Fey showing off how smart and versatile they are!
I had entered Bindi in nosework this weekend and I was not feeling confident going in because other than 1 container search before ourclast scentwork trial which we did novice we had not practiced at all since last June.
Bindi is forever my best girl and worked very well for me this weekend. Ended up with 3/4 Qs.
2 Qs in Superior vehicles both with 2nd place
1Q in Master Interior with 1st place
Found the first hide in Superior exterior but ended up timing out before finding the second.
We had an entire year's worth of weather with it hailing during our second vehicle search and snowing during our exterior search paired with high winds and bouts of sun and nice weather for when we were not searching outside.
Pyro also tagged along for socialization and did great at his first trial setting, saying hi to all the people and wanted to play with all the big dogs but thought the other puppy that was there was scary. But he got a ton of compliments on what a good boy he was and how well mannered he is which meant alot!
But here is a video of the first vehicle run.
Apologies for severely lacking in puppy photos but we are working into getting back into a full time training schedule. Bindi couldn't be more thrilled to be getting back to agility.
I also did not stay in shape over our winter off and do not bounce back as well as she does and will need to make my cardio a focus so this girl will run even faster as she hangs back for me. Also trying to get my timing back but we are up for the challenge!
Puppy training videos will also be coming soon as well!
These two love to wrestle together and would probably do it all day long if I let them!
Updated stack practice video. 1 minute is pretty much all we will do in a day currently. He mostly stacks himself but still adjusting legs and touching so he is used to the handling. Alternating between training on the floor and up on the table. Excited in what I'm seeing so far with this sweet little boy.
Never to early to start training. 5 week old puppies do not have the longest attention spans but this one still enjoys getting to do things and learning new things.
Things we have worked on in the last week would be recall with a tug reward, stack training for the show ring and we are currently learning how to sit!
We just started stack/show training last night. I have high hopes for this little boy
First raw meaty bone. Safe to say he is a fan and learning how to use those tiny little teeth
Getting ready for the show ring in June. Trying to remind someone what Conformation is.
