Community Train: PATIENCE
Grab your dog, some treats, and come play!
Sometimes it’s a quick 20m hike.
Other times it’s a weekend away with a single dog.
Sometimes it’s a leashed neighborhood walk with the dogs and babes.
If there’s something I’ve learned in the past decade, how I honor and care for my dog has shifted relative to my current season of life.
In the transitions of the seasons I have definitely experienced my fair shame of guilt and self judgement for how I show up for my dogs in the process.
It used to cripple me. Now it’s just a fleeting moment and I’m able to say “oh hey guilt, I feel you, let’s chat”.
I’ve learned to dance with my emotions as I’ve learned to dance with my dogs.
I have yet to decide which one has influenced my life more deeply.
The dance I play day in and day out (with myself and my dogs) could be eloquently summed up as “The circle of life”
In all this dancing, I’ve learned to stay present and simply enjoy whatever it is I’m doing with my dogs.
We don’t get 30, 40, 50 years with our dogs. Some are lucky to have a full decade.
Personally, I’d rather seize the moment rather than worry if Im doing it “right”.
Life is messy, dogs make it messier. learn to dance in the mess ❤️❤️❤️
