Thank you Tailwaggers Pet Food & Supplies for your ongoing love and support.

I always say the rescue people are my heroes – they do the very difficult, emotional, and life-saving work of rescue. What we do is help them so they can continue to do this amazing and compassionate work. Larchmont Living’s Monthly Spotlight, 2021 Todd WarnerPresident & Founder The Tailwaggers ...

🚨 — WHERE THE HELL ARE OUR ELEPHANTS?! 🐘🐘🐘
The is city-owned, which means it belongs to us—the people of Los Angeles. And we demand answers‼️

WUFAW has repeatedly tried to work with the city and to improve . We thought—finally—we were making progress. But this latest slap in the face makes it crystal clear: LA leadership continues to treat animals with complete disregard.

The blatant lack of transparency and cowardice from Mayor Bass’ office is pathetic.
Grow a spine and stop ignoring your constituents while protecting those in power—like the Zoo Director, Denise Verret, who just so happens to also chair the AZA Board and “recommended” sending Billy and Tina to another zoo instead of a sanctuary.

This is NOT what the people want.
This is NOT animal welfare.
This is corruption.

Meet our Skid Row pups. Now 12 weeks old and ready to find their forever.

Potato is the leader of the pack and mister mischievous 😉

Plum is the little sis who has all the boys wrapped around her paw 🐾

Squish/Squash is an adorable space cadet. 🚀

We need fosters for them until their magical families appear. Please message us if you can foster 1 or more 🫶🏽

Thank you for helping to raise them into such wonderful pups and to for always stepping up when we need you.

without you these pups would have been traded on SkidRow for drugs, s*x or to be used for breeding. Thank you for saving them with us. 🩷

thank you for letting us crash your adoption events. Next one is May 17th at in Larchmont.

💔 We Fought for Him, But the Shelter Failed Him 💔

This is a heartbreaking post to write. This sweet senior boy was dumped at in terrible shape—rotten teeth, a heart murmur—but otherwise healthy for his age. He had a chance. But in just 10 days, the shelter left him outside in the cold, and he got sick. What started as an upper respiratory infection became pneumonia. He struggled to breathe. Instead of helping him, they put him on the euthanasia list.

We pulled him, determined to save him. We rushed him to Veterinary Care Center in Hollywood, but after examining him, the vet left for the weekend without even speaking to us. No diagnosis. No real plan. He was sent home. His foster did everything—showered him with love, care, and comfort—but his condition got worse.

Yesterday, we took him to True Care in Studio City, where they immediately said he should have been hospitalized from the start. They put him in oxygen, gave him fluids, three different antibiotics—everything to save him. We prayed for a miracle.

Early this morning, the critical care specialist told us what we never wanted to hear: his little body was shutting down. She said it was like he was drowning, and prolonging his life would only be torture. There was no time to wait. We made the heartbreaking decision to let him go. His foster didn’t get to say goodbye because we couldn’t let him suffer any longer.

We are shattered. His foster is devastated. We didn’t pull him to lose him—we pulled him to save him. But the shelter failed him first. He should never have gotten sick. He should never have suffered like this.

Our fundraiser is closed, but if you donated and don’t agree with our decision, we understand and will refund you—just message us. Our final bill isn’t in yet, but we expect it to be around $4K.

We did everything we could. We loved him deeply. And we are so, so sorry.

Run free, sweet boy. You deserved better. 💔

🚨 Meet Ozzy – Your New Adventure Buddy! 🚨

Ozzy was rescued from Devore Shelter, where he was a scared, trembling boy. But since his freedom walk, he’s blossomed into a loving, affectionate pup! 🐶❤️

This smart, energetic young guy is looking for an active person who loves hiking, running, or outdoor adventures. While he’s still learning to walk confidently on a leash, he’s a quick learner and eager to please! With a little guidance, he’ll be the perfect companion.

Ozzy is great with kids and would thrive in a home that gives him structure, love, and plenty of fun! Could that be you?

📍 Ready to give Ozzy his forever home? Fill out the application at the link in our bio! 🏡✨
