I am a Cobourg native and I studied Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. I love all creatures and have worked in animal care for the last 8 years working with many different types of animals. I have two cats, two turtles and a tortoise of my own and have always lived in a household full of pets.

I'm going to miss this girl so much 💔 She was my first dog "client" when I started this business, but most importantly she was my first fur-neice.

Sending all the love and support to her family right now. She was loved so greatly and gave so much love back to everyone.

I posted her beautiful face so often that a few people thought she was my dog and trust me, I would have taken her home with me every day if I could. I feel so lucky to have spent as much time as I did with her. There will forever be a Penny shaped hole in my heart and in the back seat of my car.

Love you and miss you Penny ❤❤❤

🆘 The animals need you! 🆘

Our shelter capacity has been steadily increasing with all types of species, which our team is working hard to care for.

Kitten season is right around the corner, and there are oftentimes adult cats that come in and require extra love and care.

A foster home is the ideal place for many of the medical and behavioural cases that can walk through our doors. Unfortunately, without foster homes, NHS is limited in what types of situations we can assist with as a shelter environment can be very tough for the most vulnerable.

Throwback to Mama Bear's last litter of kittens.

Our Mama Bear (pictured here) showed up in our yard a few years ago, and would stop by for food. She eventually started to lead her kittens here too.

A few litters later we finally got around to stopping the cycle and spaying Mama Bear. She had at least 3 litters of 2 kittens each, and it was becoming very obvious that she was homeless when she had this last litter on our deck last winter.

These two kittens went to a great home together, and unfortunately she lost a 3rd kitten in this litter at birth ❤❤❤

Now Mama Bear is an empty nester. She seems very happy to be finished mothering her young and living the pampered life on our deck and she will always be a mother to us. No matter what. Hence we kept the name "Mama Bear".

Once a mother, always a mother.

Wishing a happy mothers day to all of the mothers out there of all kinds. Mothers with children, who are wishing to have children, who cannot have children, who have lost children, who take care of other mother's children, and those who have lost their mothers.
