From the moment I started my journey in sterilization clinics and animal rescue in 2012, I knew it could only work if “rescues helped rescues”.
So I proudly dusted off and put on my MexiPaws shirt after a well deserved 3 year hiatus and volunteered at my first Canadian sterilization clinic in Saddle Lake Alberta. It was such an honor to be amongst so many amazing and selfless volunteers. I made new friends and gained many memories.
My sister, myself and our niece put in 14 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday in the dog surrender room. It was the best 24 hours of hard love! The body is sore, I have bruises everywhere and puppy p**p in the oddest places😂🤣
We even transported 19 kittens including 2 breast feeding mommas back to a local rescue in Edmonton!
👇🏼Here is why I feel so fulfilled once again👇🏼
This email from the Canadian Animal Task Force-CATF🖤❤️
“On behalf of everyone at the Task Force we would like to thank you for volunteering at our Saddle Lake Cree Nation clinic this past weekend. The phenomenal success of this clinic is a reflection of the hard work from everyone that came out and volunteered their time. This weekend we cared for over 600 animals.
Together we were able to complete
91 dogs spayed
108 dogs neutered
17 cats spayed
13 cats neutered
49 additional animals received medical treatments
A total of 229 animals were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tattooed and treated for parasites.
Additionally, 336 animals (157 dogs and 179 cats) were surrendered and placed with our amazing partner animal welfare organizations to be rehomed.
🐾 I will proudly wear my MexiPaws shirt once again to volunteer for 3 days at the end of September at the final CATF clinic season in Frog Lake🐾
