I’m very proud of this! Rollo was not the biggest fan of my Rodeo at first…(completely understandable because Rodeo wants to play before the other dog even gets a chance to sniff him which isn’t the way most dogs like to do things LOL) but after some careful introductions in multiple ways, Rollo decided this is his best friend!
Happy Saturday everyone!
Elvis and Styx
It’s finally warm enough for the puppies to get outside and play for awhile! They follow each other everywhere ❤️

Timber getting his dinner in a more fun way than a boring old bowl! Didn’t take him long to figure this enrichment game out but he still enjoys it!
Enrichment is so important for your pups mental health! Whether it’s a puzzle you buy like this or something you find around the house to use, it doesn’t matter! The only “rules” are that your dog is enjoying the activity and they are working their brains and noses! It shouldn’t feel like one more chore you have to do each day, it should feel like a way to give you a break and it should help decrease problem behaviors and boost your dogs overall mood!
If you need ideas on enrichment for your pup there is a great page on Facebook Canine Enrichment Ideas
We got an update from Bobo and his sister Nora! They are completely head over heels in love with each other! They have the same exact play style and are absolutely meant for one another! We are so thrilled it’s going well and he finally has his forever home!
Bobo has been adopted y’all!!!!! This poor pup had so many meet and greets and everyone said the same thing that he had too much energy. Well we know why the others didn’t work out and that’s because this pup was waiting on him all along. They are a literal perfect match and got along instantly! We are so happy for him!!!
🤣 Marshmallow trying her best to catch her favorite snack, animal crackers 🤣
Timber has been doing enrichment his whole life and it shows in his behavior and demeanor …
I preach enrichment at every lesson! Matter of fact I tell people if they follow nothing else I say make this the priority because of the amazing benefits it brings!
The benefits to enrichment are truly endless and it is necessary for ALL dogs regardless of age, size, breed, activity level, etc.
Just a few benefits:
•Builds independence
•Promotes calmness/lowers heart rate
•Encourages old/injured/less athletic dogs to stretch and get movin
•Helps provide balance to hyper/athletic dogs lives, helps avoid “super dog syndrome” or “adrenaline junkies”
•Gives mental exercise
•Allows the dog freedom of choice
•Great for recovering from spay/neuter/other surgeries
•Boredom buster!
•Builds confidence
•Lowers anxiety
•Decreases overly excited greetings/hyper behavior/trouble focusing
•Helps positively associate things like being crated/left home alone/being outside alone
•Hones skills like foraging/searching/nose work/agility/basic cues (drop it/leave it/recall)
•Decreases separation anxiety/awareness by showing them great things happen when we are gone/not every single good thing in their life comes from us
•Stops undesirable behaviors like excessive barking, digging holes in the yard, escaping the fence, chasing animals, reactivity, etc.
•Helps teach problem solving and decision making skills
•Can promote impulse control
•Gives dogs things to look forward to/breaks up the monotony of their day
•Creates a happy, Satisfied, fulfilled
dog
***A tired dog is a good dog, NO!…an enriched/satisfied Dog is a well behaved dog***
If you have any examples of positive outcomes from enrichment or any enrichment ideas that your dogs love,

Practicing recall with distractions with little Penny and a blooper at the end 😂
Go Cocomelon go!!!! She just met this nice lady 10 min before this! We all went on a short walk together, Coco got a few hotdog pieces from her and BAM! She’s got herself a new foster mom!
So beyond happy for her!! Congratulations to Cocomelon and thank you to her new foster mom, Ashley!
Found a toy he loves and is already a different dog than the one we saw in the videos from the shelter!
Timber’s new snuffle mat came today and we couldn’t wait til Christmas to open it! He absolutely loves it and he hasn’t looked up or taken a breather or anything since I laid it down…it’s been about 20 minutes now and he’s still dialed in…
It’s important to start off easy and make it more difficult the better your dog gets at enrichment activities. Timbers been doing stuff like this since he was a puppy so we can make it pretty difficult and he will still try to figure it out. Also if your dog is not super food motivated they may give up easily if it’s too hard at first, they also get bored easily so it’s important to change the difficulty level depending.
