Old Dog Haven HOME FOUND

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME FOUND
(In W. Washington state or Portland OR only)

He's still at the shelter, still in need of our help and your shares!
Fonzie is not on the adoption floor, he needs rescuing.
Will you help us find a home to send Fonzie to?

“Fonzie” is Chihuahua mix (chiweenie?), a neutered male, who weighs 10 pounds. He has been really scared at the shelter though is starting to relax; we'd love to get him out of there quickly. He has cloudy eyes and may be blind in one so startles easily on that side, so probably pretty old? His teeth are bad, he has a big heart murmur, but a sweet boy who is good on walks.

As an Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home (aka forever foster), all vet bills are paid by our organization-thanks to donations. You aren’t adopting the dog but keeping them for the rest of their days. For more information about how to join our network of homes please read through the link and contact us.

ADOPTION PENDING

Happy Friday Friends!
Check out this BBD (big black dog) we are posting for our friends at Save-A-Mutt ❤

10 year old Mojo is a tender hearted boy who is ready to find a family and home to call his own. He is a 67 pound labrador mix. He would be great with an active family that will include him in their outdoor adventures. Mojo would make a fantastic hiking, running or camping buddy. He would also add to the comfort of a cozy couch on a rainy day. Mojo is a true lover of people and would be happiest in a home where his people aren't gone for a long hours. Mojo's energy level might be too much for young children because he can knock them down accidentally. For this reason his rescuers are asking for a home without children under 12 years of age.

Mojo LOVES tennis balls! He is a champion fetcher and he will politely drop the ball at your feet but if there is a ball in sight he is very focused on it. Be prepared to get a workout throwing the ball....one of the many benefits of having a dog like Mojo. When Mojo met the rescue dog safety tester he was a gentleman and would probably benefit from having a confident doggie companion similar in size to him. It is unknown how Mojo would react to cats, therefore, any cat in the home should be dog savvy and have their own space where they can relax.

Mojo is posted for Save-A-Mutt. He is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Mojo, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630

Can you believe it's been 5 months now since we first starting sharing Dakota?
This incredibly handsome, young senior is still in need of an adoptive home.

Dakota sounds like a truly terrific dog! He will make a great dog for a family with school aged kids, a couple or a single person. We really can't believe he's still available-a young senior dog who is ready to go and join in on activities!

"Hey there! My name is Dakota. I'm a 9 year old big boy who weighs 85 pounds. My people say I'm a cattle dog and akita mix. This blend gives me my grand ears to hear you with and my strength and stamina. Because of my age I'm called a "senior" but I will tell you I can out walk some of the youngins!

I've been with the same family since I was a puppy and in that time, I've always been the only dog. Because of this I have "social struggles". It can take some time and good supervision with just the right dog for me to accept another dog. I guess that means my best home would be another without a dog already there. I lived with a cat long ago but my people say it wouldn't be a good idea for me to do so now. If you are looking for a friend, I could meet that need! I could also make a great family dog, a home with older kids would be nice. I love car rides so I could tag along for after school activities or go on road trips with my family. I am a very loving, happy dog.

Currently I can stay home alone when you need to leave the house. I can manage quite a bit between potty breaks. I have been known to be a bit mischievous when the humans leave so best not to leave stuff out I may get into. What can I say, I'm a curious guy and I can get bored! I will need time to learn about my new life: the routine and what's expected of me and that you will return. That's a biggie for all of us dogs who have to be returned-we need to learn that you ARE coming back! Once you come home I'll greet you and make you feel like you're the best thing ever! I will let you know with barks when a car arrives. I'm a good alert dog but I don't bark at just anything-I'm not one of "those" dogs!

Walks are great. I enjoy a 2 mile walk, 3 times a week. If you can take me out more days. I am happy to do so and I'll behave on a leash for you. I'm not my best at dog parks, when I'm allowed off leash, or in an unfenced yard. It can be a dangerous world out there and I don't want to get lost either! If you have a yard for me to go and chill out in, that's great. I can keep you company while you work in the yard. Stairs are not a problem for me now. While I don't like to swim, I will splash in puddles.

Overall I'm a calm kinda guy who can be active when you're ready but also I know when to just be and enjoy the moment. I think I could be a great addition to many types of homes. Mostly, I just want a family or person that will love me and keep me forever."

Coco is a wonderful, easy-going senior looking for a soft couch to snuggle up on in a forever home! He’s a champion couch potato who enjoys spending most of the day hanging out somewhere comfortable. He also loves lounging in the sun and will sometimes ask to go outside just to find a sunny spot!

Here's a great video of Coco:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Pw3xbDBkbk

Even though he’s almost ten years old, Coco has still some get and go! He’s not super active but does need a home that will give him those brief energy outlets so he can snooze the rest of the day. He loves going for walks, playing tug, fire hose toys (the only ones he can’t destroy in minutes), and will occasionally get the zoomies!
Coco loves people and thinks that everyone wants a kiss from him! He’s an affectionate guy, but not overly needy, and will go settle on his own after some pets and love. He prefers having people around but has also been okay with being left alone at his foster home when necessary.

Coco came to the shelter in April when his senior owners could no longer care for him. At that time he was a little chunky and has slimmed down to around 69 pounds. He is very food-motivated and will gladly work for treats! He also enjoys an after-dinner chew every night before he puts himself to bed around 7pm.

Coco can be leash reactive with other dogs (but loved playing with them when he was at the shelter) and needs a home with no cats or small animals. Coco would love a family that is willing to continue to work with him to be comfortable seeing other dogs as he enjoys his walks and gets so excited to go he’ll hop into his harness!
Coco is posted for the Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) in Kent, WA.
You can find out more about Coco and other animals on their website at www.kingcounty.gov/adoptapet.

Oliver is a 9 year old, Miniature Australian Shepherd who weighs 40 pounds. Oliver is ready for an adoptive home with people who are familiar with his breed. Oliver needs activity and structure. In return, Oliver will reward you with his loyalty and dedication.

Oliver has lived with other dogs and has been aloof until he's gotten to know them better. Oliver has lived with cats as well. A home with dog-savvy cats would be best for Oliver. Because Oliver can become anxious with young children and the energy they have, he needs a home without them.

According to Oliver's people, he was once a farm dog. He enjoys room to roam and the belief is that he would be happier with more outside time, space to explore but in a safe environment (fenced) so that he would not wander off. Oliver does bark and for this reason, he should not have a home where his barking will be an issue.

When left alone, Oliver stays well in his crate. If he's not crated he will get into trouble. He will bark some but once he settles down, he will be fine in his crate until his humans return. Oliver has become accustomed to a home where people work from home. He appreciates the company of his humans and the hope is that he will find a new home with someone who is around often.

A natural athlete, Oliver craves exercise. He's a young senior who runs very fast, jumps and LOVES to play ball. Oliver is obsessed with tennis balls, so much so that he will chase them until he can no longer stand. For this reason, tennis ball time needs to be monitored and the balls put away where Oliver can't see them. With his focus and determination, he could be a candidate for agility or herding activity. Oliver does pull while on leash so traditional walks could prove difficult. One will enjoy time with Oliver outside, playing fetch, watching him run around and once he recognizes who his new family and humans are, we are told he does well off leash and stays with his humans. Again-we would not want someone to allow him off leash while he is "new", too many dogs become lost or take off looking for their former owner.

Oliver sounds like he could be a very fun dog! He definitely needs a home with someone who will appreciate him and understand a working dog mentality. Oliver is a good boy who deserves a very good, committed adoptive home.

Oliver is located in Mount Vernon, WA. For contact information please email [email protected]

9 year old Hershey is an adorable lady who is dreaming of a family and home of her own. Hershey is a 24 pound whippet mix. She is a friend to everyone and is a favorite everywhere she goes. Hershey would love a family that will include her in their plans. Whether it's an outdoor adventure or just lounging on the couch she is ready to be your loyal companion. This girl just wants to belong.

Hershey would love a family where she is the only dog. She wants all the attention for herself. Hershey is energetic and loves to play. She would make an amazing hiking, running or walking buddy. It is unknown if Hershey has any experience with cats, therefore, her rescuers are asking for a feline-free home. Hershey loves people of all ages and is a friend to all humans but because of the unpredictable nature of young children, her rescuers are asking for a home without children under 10 years of age.

Hershey is posted for Save-A-Mutt. She is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Hershey, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630
