Thanksgiving 2024 with 4 Luv
We hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with your loved ones and eating some delicious food on Thanksgiving! As we've done in past years, we made sure any dogs staying at our central building were able to enjoy a feast of their own!
(Some of you may have made your grand entrance to dinner in the same excited way Gayle did in this video...)
Gayle, Maren, Mochi, and Pippi are all available for adoption! You can check out their profiles on our website:

Meet our Monchichi! This gal has the most striking markings and loves to have fun!
🎶 Come on, Eileen! 🎶 This sweet girl helped us prep for our silent auction, sniffing out all the best items! Now she’s on the hunt for a loving home! You can see her profile as well as other eligible dogs on the Adoptable Dogs page of our website.
Speaking of the silent auction, we're still accepting donations! If you have any items, services, or experiences you'd like to contribute, we'd be so grateful. Every bit helps us raise funds for the pups in our care, like Eileen! Just message our page to make arrangements!

This will be our final medical update for miss Munchkin because…she has been officially medically cleared after her MPL surgery and will be available for adoption very soon! 🥳
This special gal has stolen countless hearts during her time in rescue and it’s now time for her to find and steal the hearts of her forever family. Keep a close eye on our website to see when she’ll be available! Be sure to read through her full bio to see if she’s the right fit for you. Don’t fret if you find she’s not the right fit though because there are seriously SO MANY amazing dogs in rescue right now who would absolutely love to be your forever buddy. 🐾
Thank you all for your support of Miss Minchkin on her medical journey, she sure felt the love! ❤️
Remember Munchkin?
Munchkin is one of our amazing dogs in foster care and she had surgery on her luxating patella back on April 30th. We’re here to update you on her progress!
The surgery was a lengthy one: a groove was created where her knee cap can rest and her tibia was also rotated and pinned in place to allow for better movement. She was quite swollen and painful for the first week and really didn’t want to use that leg (we don’t blame her!). After daily stretches and icing though she started to come around and is using her leg fairly well!
She recently had her post surgery recheck exam and her wonderful veterinarian was proud of how she was using her leg but a little cautious with how her leg felt on exam. Munchkin goes back in a few weeks for sedated X-rays where we will get a better idea of how much recovery she has left.
Thank you to all who cheered her on and donated towards her care. She felt the love! A surgery like this with continued rechecks and pain management isn’t cheap but we care deeply about our dogs and strive to do what’s best for them. Your valued donations go towards giving amazing dogs like Munchkin here the best care possible while they wait for their forever homes. Please consider making a donation towards her continued care and check back to see how Munchkin is doing after her next recheck exam!

Meet Munchkin
Sweet little Munchkin here was picked up as a stray earlier this year and brought to a local pound. Sadly, no owners claimed her so when her time was up at the pound 4 Luv of Dog Rescue happily pulled her giving her a second chance at life. It was quickly discovered after she was accepted into rescue though that something wasn’t quite right with her back left leg. After seeing a vet Munchkin was diagnosed with a condition called medial patella luxation which means her kneecap dislocates with movement. This can be very very painful for dogs. While in rescue Munchkin has been showing her happy goofy self but underneath her happiness, she’s been masking the pain that her back left leg has been causing her. She has a hard time sitting and will try and adjust her leg in a way so it doesn’t bend because she knows if it bends it will cause her pain. She also will gallop or lift her leg or walk with an awkward gait because bending her leg causes her pain. We don’t know how long Munchkin has been suffering but given some muscle wasting of that leg and how she’s tried to develop ways of getting around best she can with as little pain as possible, it likely has been like this for a long time.
But we have great news! Today is the day Munchkin’s life will change because she goes in to have her luxating patella corrected. It will be a long road to recovery afterwards, but we look forward to seeing her run and play pain free. Please help us wish Munchkin luck during her surgery and in her recovery!
If you would like to help us cover the cost of this expensive surgery, please consider making a tax-deductible monetary donation! Thank you to all of you for your support of 4 Luv of Dog Rescue, we couldn’t help dogs like Munchkin without you!
