We are dedicated to re-homing, rehabilitating and rescuing French Bulldogs. We also help educate and network with like-minded Frenchie enthusiasts. We were founded in 2014 and have rehomed MANY dogs since our inception. We passionately support the upliftment of the communities and their animals in Touws Rivier in the Western Cape and we undertake this upliftment in the area addressing the welfare

of farm and companion animals through sterilisation campaigns and outreaches. Rupert the great is our mascot and tireless fund raising and awareness ambassador, his passion for life and character is infectious and he will steal your heart! Banking and donation details:

Rehome alert! We are still looking for the perfect home for Toby who is 3 years old. Preferably with an older calmer dog as he can be quite lively and demanding. No small children as he may knock them over. Garden to run in, is a must. He cannot be left alone all day. Cape Town only.

Rehome alert! Cape Town applicants only. Due to difficult circumstances, these two need to be rehomed together. They are a male and female, aged 3 and 4 years, with all vet records up to date. As they are quite boisterous, they are not suitable for homes with other pets or small children. A rehoming fee is required, which will go directly towards purchasing kennels for our kennel drive in Touws River. Interested parties can email [email protected]. Rehome alert!
My name is Rusty and I’m 81 human years young. Unfortunately my companion is no longer able to look after me as he has to go back to England where his daughter will care for him. Like me, he is also getting on in years. All I am asking for is a warm bed, a bowl of food and for someone to watch over me. In return I promise to be a loyal companion. Here are a few things you should know about me: I am scared of big noises that come from the sky so I am usually given a tablet to calm my nerves. I love affection and going on short walks. My health is good for an old timer. I would prefer to be in a home where I am on my own as I’m rather set in my ways.

Meet Lucy, an affectionate Boston Terrier who is waiting to be your new best friend.
Lucy grew up with children and will make a great family companion. She is active, healthy and 8 years young and is house trained and sterilised. Lucy loves playing ball, car rides and walks but is quite happy to snuggle on the couch watching Netflix. She would do well in a home with no other pets as she likes to be queen bee. Regrettably no cats. Unfortunately her family are emigrating and circumstances mean they can’t take her with them. Please no negative comments, let’s rather focus on finding Lucy a new family. She is located on the KZN South Coast. To adopt Lucy a home visit and adoption fee apply.

My name is ‘happy go lucky Willow’ and I’m looking for a family to adopt me. I’m 4 years old and I’m pretty easy to get along with - cats, dogs, birds, kids, I love them all!

Please read the conditions of the post carefully before you reply as we unfortunately do not have the manpower to respond to requests that do not fit the criteria.

This lovely girl is perfect in every way but she has one tiny little flaw - if another dog gets between her and her humans it’s time for them to pack their bags and leave home. Competition for love, toys and food simply won’t be tolerated! Butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth except if it’s spread on a nice tast nibble!

Very good with children.
NO other dogs.
Previous experience with flat nose breeds.
Based in Jhb.
Adoption fee will go directly to our Touws River Kennel drive.

Our welfare has spread its wings, so to speak, and our latest project is raising 3 owls - Owlivia, Owlfonso and Owlfred.

Their parents took up residence in an undesirable neighbourhood (a chimney in town) and things went a bit pear shaped so the 3 babies had to be rescued.
We are currently working with Cape Nature and another owl expert to make sure that before they are released back into the wild, they are properly nourished and are strong enough to fly and can hunt on their own.
The owls need another week or two of daily feeding and supplements before they are ready for the big wide world and we also want to put up a few more owl boxes for them.

FBRSA recently ran a competition at the Touws River Primary School, one of the poorest communities in the Western Cape. We called it ‘Knick-Knack Paddywack, give a dog a home.
School kids were asked to draw a picture of their dogs who needed a kennel. There were some lovely drawing and of course a few surprises!
We’d like to thank Montagu Kaap Agri and Jo Jo Tanks for their participation and our loyal supporters who made this possible.One kind lady donated R20k, the largest donations we’ve ever received! We’d also like to thank Clemence from the school and the ATKV Youth Branch for organizing the competition and for numbering and distributing the kennels to the winners.
A final thanks to all the kids who took part and who tried their hardest but unfortunately not all could be winners as we could only select 33 in total. However we will be doing a follow up post to give the kids who may well have 6 legged dogs with 4 ears another chance to win a kennel.
