International Dog Parkour Association The first dog parkour org! We are the only one run by dog trainers AND human parkour practitioners!

Dog parkour (urban agility) combines elements of human parkour and dog agility to create an accessible activity for dogs and humans alike. Dogs get introduced to the world of jumping, climbing, balancing over, crawling under, and going around different obstacles in their everyday world. Parkour can be done anywhere and is limited only by one’s imagination. Dog Parkour helps with confidence and overcoming fears, and it is a low impact but challenging activity for any canine athlete.

Puppy Parkour Class will start the week of January 6th!

These are the potential time options, if you are interested please let us know which of the following day/ time works best for you.

Monday at 8pm EST
Wednesday at 7pm
Friday at 2pm

This class will consist of 4 webinars. They can either be purchased individually, or buy all 4 and get access to our Puppy Parkour FB group!

Webinar topics will include: Puppy Parkour Foundation Skills, Puppy Socialization Through Dog Parkour, Building Confidence Through Puppy Parkour and Taming the Wild One Through Puppy Parkour.

Our next IDPKA Evaluator Class will begin Friday December 6th at 2pm EST. This class will allow IDPKA instructors to offer clients in-person Training Level and Novice titles.

Must be a current IDPKA instructor or have taken the instructor class in the past year and be eligible to become an instructor (this includes the current class). You may take this class before you become an IDPKA instructor, but you will not become an official evaluator until you pass your instructor certification requirements.

Title submission reminders!

Before you submit a title be sure to double check the title checklist and make sure your submission meets all the criteria.

There are a few common reasons submissions don't pass!

-Videos sent to private. Make sure we have access to the videos.

- Dog must be shown getting on and off the obstacles, from ground to ground. This applies to ANY behavior.

- Shoulder height rule is always in effect. If in doubt help your dog off the obstacles or find a different way down

- Harness rules! If a dog is on leash the leash MUST be attached to a harness. This applies to any behavior. Dogs may be off leash if in a safe environment and the behavior doesn't require spotting.

We are very excited to announce that we will have a NEW specialty title coming soon! This title will be great for dogs of all ages, and is all about finding new locations. Keep an eye out for details later this month, but for now be thinking about all the unique places you and your dog can do dog parkour.

We found a really fun place to work on gap jumps while in a hike today! Parkour is everywhere ❤️

Our next Online Dog Parkour Instructors Class starts Friday March 1st at 2pm EST and runs every week for five weeks! Instructor class includes training behaviors, history and philosophy of dog parkour, safety, spotting, class management and structure, developing parkour eye and more! Class includes a webinar portion which will be recorded, as well as a fb group. Brand new to parkour and looking to learn more? Auditing this class is a fantastic way to learn more about training parkour and safety. Took an IDPKA Instructors class in the past but didn't finish the requirements in the allotted year?
