This past weekend I took my very special Eleven out for a spin in the Specials ring.
This was her last weekend at an all-breed show before she starts her Veterans career, so I've kinda been a mess about it.
She got Select Bitch all weekend, so she was still in the ribbons but these wins aren't the reason I entered her.
Eleven is my first dog. I suffered very extreme anxiety around showing and dog shows when she was younger. I showed her myself a few times and then her lovely breeder took over, piloting her to her championship. Since then, I have not shown her. As she's almost a veteran, that was SIX years ago. The last time she was in the ring was when Tulip and Billie were entered in BPUP, which was two years ago.
Luckily I show dogs a lot more, and I feel good about doing it and my handling skills.
The happy, confident dog at the end of my leash every day was the most rewarding and refreshing thing.
We got a very special podium photo taken that I am really looking forward to sharing when it arrives.
For now I'm going to cry over the candids of my happy dog and look forward to the 2025 show circuit with the very, very best dog.
