Billie loves working with me and seems to enjoy when I film our training sessions. She'll go wait at her mark and stare intently (like this) at my tripod while I get it set up!

She's maturing into a lovely girl and I'm so lucky to share my home with her. ❤️

Way to go, Superstar!

After this weekend, Billie has FOUR pending new titles.
She spent the weekend competing at Fraser Valley Ratter’s trial while I was busy handling in conformation.
I am eternally grateful for my friends for helping me juggle weekends with multiple sports!

She is now:
Ka-tet Lucky Number Seven NTD NS RATI RATN *XVN *VBM!

She earned RATI first thing Friday morning, and was able to earn RATN plus have her first successful Open Q on Sunday.

Pending some certificates, she qualifies for the Extreme Versatility Novice title and the DPCC Versatility Recognition Medallion, Bronze level. She has some early trick titles from when she was approximately 3 months old that aided in getting that so quickly.

We are looking forward to some fall trials.

Baby dog, superstar!

Billie is nearing 15 months old this month, and is stoked on life. We’ll be working on some titles and training for a variety of sports this summer!

I posted this on my personal page, and figured I should share here too.

Back in October, I travelled with my dear friend on a huge road-trip from WA, to Topeka, KS to attend my first Doberman Pinscher Club of America National Specialty.

It was a whirlwind week.
I don’t know what to write.

Thank you to every single person I’ve spoken to, you’ve helped ignite my passion for this breed over the years and made my first DPCA Nationals week truly unforgettable.

I’ve learned so much that week, met people I’ve admired in the breed for a decade, got my hands on dogs I’ve been watching from afar for a long time.

I would like to give a huge shout out to my little team - Paige, Ash, Caitlin, and Veronica for hanging out and having the best time.

To everyone - THANK YOU.
I cried watching everyone beaming with pride for their dogs and passion for this breed, if I wasn’t hooked before I sure as s**t am now.

Happy 3rd Birthday to our red monster Grace!
KS Coup de Grâce NTD RATI NS, bred by Tami Lane, Elizabeth Spear & Kelly Schmidt and owned by myself and .

Grace is proving to be a fantastic little girl and blew me away this year with how well she took to both Barn Hunt and Sprinters.

Excited to get her into the Conformation, Barn Hunt, and Sprinter “rings” next year!

The Versatility of the Doberman:
The Doberman Pinscher is a good middle sized compactly built dog, muscular and powerful and built for endurance and speed. A good tempered Doberman is energetic, watchful, determined, alert, fearless, loyal and obedient. All of these qualities make the Doberman an ideal canine partner for a variety of endeavours.

To this date we compete in:
- CKC Sprinters
- DMWYD Trick Dog
- CKC Conformation
- Barn Hunt

Some of the girls will be competing in additional venues come the new year, as well as signing up for some new sport classes. The sports listed above are a few of the many sports the Doberman can enjoy and succeed in!

Eyes on the prize!

Grace has had a wonderful month, earning both her RATI title the first time she stepped into the barn hunt ring as well as earning NS title her first weekend participating in Sprinters!

These girls have been consistently blowing my expectations out of the water. Watch for Tulip in the conformation ring over the next few months and keep an eye out for what Billie’s working on!

couple o’ hooligans!

I am so excited about Billie’s future. She’s growing into a beautiful well-rounded puppy and I am looking forward to getting her back into the conformation ring once she matures as well as beginning to compete in some other venues.

By 6 months old, Billie had received 6 trick titles through two venues. Trick training is by far my favourite thing to do, and the dogs think it’s a blast!

Colour in Doberman Pinschers:

Doberman Pinschers come in FOUR colours.

Black/Rust, Red/Rust, Blue/Rust, and Fawn(Isabella)/Rust.

These colours are determined by the B locus and D locus as specified in the infographic.

There are backyard breeders and shady people breeding terribly poorly bred dogs as “Dobermans” in “rare” and “exotic” colours such as clear red/melanistic, cream, pink, platinum or white (which are all OCA4 affected albinism), and anything else they can mix into our breed.

Don’t let these people fool you, these are not Dobermans and are not something naturally occurring in the breed nor are they something ANY responsible and ethical breeder is breeding for.

As for dilutes, you may notice that Black/Rust and Red/Rust are the most common colours you’re seeing in the day-to-day Doberman.
This does not mean dilutes should not happen or that responsible breeders aren’t producing them - it can come down to preference of said breeder (breeding specifically to produce dilutes is never a part of a breeding decision).

Some breeders want to avoid dilution in their dogs and that’s okay.
Some breeders may occasionally have dilutes born without planning it and that’s okay.
Some breeders may want to work with dilution on a small scale and that’s okay.

The common issue in diluted Dobermans is Colour Dilute Alopecia. This is not something that affects quality of life and is manageable. No two dogs will be affected the same way.

CDA itself is poorly understood, but we know it affects the hair follicle itself.

There are lovely breeders in the USA who have produced some rainbow litters the past few years, and I am very excited to watch these dogs mature.

We have sent off for the majority of Billie’s DNA testing now! I’m loving the UC DAVIS VetGen program and the Doberman Pinscher health panel they offer. Her testing is not near complete as she is just a baby still but it’s quite nice to get a head start.

The sisters had a very eventful weekend at Renaissance Kennel Club with it being their first dog show!
Tulip took Best Baby Puppy in Breed all 3 days against Billie and went on to win a Best Baby Puppy in Group.

Back in February at 12 weeks old Billie earned her Novice Trick Dog title as well as Puppy Novice Tricks, Triple Threat and 2K9 Challenge titles!

Eleven recently earned her Barn Hunt Novice title and Versatility Bronze Medallion! These are her 16th and 17th titles earned.

She is now
Ch. Ka-tet Stranger Things ATD NTD-M AtoZ 2K9 T3 FTD DZ-GD DZ-M AKA DZOB-PP WDB-SD RATN VBM.

We had a very good start to our year bringing Billie into our home.
So far this year we have earned 14 titles over three of our dogs, and are entered in more trials and shows coming up.

We will be at local conformation shows and barn hunt trials this year, and are planning on trialing in scent work, sprinters, chase ability and as always online venues.
Our plans for this year include our first Doberman Extravaganza in WA and our first DPCA National in Kansas!

It is going to be a big year for AllHallows and I am looking forward to seeing what our dogs can do and working closely with both Ka-tet Dobermans and Epitaph Dobermans.
