This guy is in Alberta but trailering can be lined up to bring him to Ontario.
4 year old, 14.1, Welsh cross gelding looking for a show home. Not for beginners as he still needs more training, has been sent for 2 months of training and has excelled very well. Trainers son who is 15 years old ended up riding him everyday.

Can put serious buyers in contact with owner. Videos in comments of the trainers son riding him.

Introducing a new supplement to your horse's diet can be a beneficial addition to their overall health and well-being. However, it's important to introduce the supplement gradually and carefully to avoid any potential negative effects.

Here are some tips for introducing a new supplement to your horse's diet:

1. Begin by introducing a small amount of the supplement and monitor your horse's reaction closely. If there are no adverse effects, gradually increase the amount over the next few days until you reach the recommended dosage.

2. Be sure to follow the recommended dosage instructions provided by the supplement manufacturer.

3. Additionally, it's important to maintain a consistent feeding schedule and consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements to your horse's diet.

By taking these steps, you can safely and effectively introduce your horse to a new supplement and support their health and vitality!

Horses are not cheap or easy work. We could probably write a novel on what we have been through with this mare but will be short and sweet.

This mare has tested us emotionally, physically and financially. Photos show the progress of this girl from end of September to end of November (yes this is the same horse in both photos, her winter coat seems to go very dark). Her teeth needed to be done badly and they got done October 3rd. We started added ExcelEQ supplement to her diet the beginning on September (please note that you need to give any type of supplement a full month to start showing results). Thank you to Excel Supplements Canada for supplying up with your products that keep our herd happy and health. ExcelEQ is a must have product we carry in our barn and trailer and others should as well. This lovely will be switching over to Excel Pro Elite this month.

This mare gets bodywork sessions done every 2 weeks, is on a specific feed schedule to make sure he gets the nutrition she needs, 8 week trimming schedule with the farrier, will have dental work done again in 6 months, and also has access to a round bale 24/7. She will be starting a groundwork boot camp later this month to start helping her build proper muscle.

Well our beast has officially claimed his home, we have now started into his training session and therapy session for over the winter. We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for this boy.

Big shout out to his previous owner Taylor Dykstra for letting us be her boys new home. We love him dearly, he’s already a spoiled boy and the girls are excited to take him out for a spin in the ring and on trails.

ExcelRescue is not just for your Equine Partners, these two products have been a life saver through the cooler temperatures.

The ExcelRescue lip balm is always my go to when I get dry cracked lips, if you work outside this is definitely something you want with you all the time. The ExcelRescue salve has worked wonder on my hand to keep them from drying out when I’m working outside on client horses, in the barn, etc.

If interested in pricing and purchasing one of these two products or other Excel products send us a message. 💕🐴

Before backing your young horse, please read!!

A horse ages roughly 3 times faster than a human.

So a 90 year old human is a 30 year old horse. Both very old, usually arthritic, don’t have many of their original teeth left, and very likely retired and enjoying the finer things in life.

A 25 year old horse is a 75 year old human. Some are still happily working but some prefer retirement and an easier life. Often depending on just how hard a life they’ve lived.

A 20 year old horse is a 60 year old human. At that point where the body doesn’t work like it use to but the brain is all there and wants to be active.

A 13 year old horse is a 39 year old human. Middle aged, prime of their life where their knowledge and physical ability are about equal.

So let’s get down to the babies and work our way up.

A 1-1.5 year old horse is getting their first adult tooth, this happens at 6 years old in a human child.

A 3 year old horse is a 9 year old child. A child. Not ready for work by a long stretch. We have moved past sending children down the mines.

A 4 year old horse is a 12 year old child. Often will do odd jobs for pocket money, maybe a paper round, mowing lawns etc. Basically a 4 year old horse can start a bit of light work experience to learn the ropes.

A 5 year old horse is a 15 year old teenager. Think they know it all, cocky, and ready to up their work and responsibilities. Still quite weak and not fully developed so shouldn’t be at their physical limit but can start building strength.

A 5.5 year old horse has just cut their final adult tooth, this happens at 17 years of age in a human.

A 6 year old horse is an 18 year old human. An adult. Ready to work.

An 8 year old horse has achieved full fusion of their final growth plates. This happens at 24 years of age in a human. This is the age it is safe to push a horse for their optimal performance.

Pushing your youngster too hard too young will result in the failure of many body parts. Joints, spine, tendons, ligaments as well as their brains. Waiting another year or two at the beginning could give your horse an extra 10 years of useful working life. Be patient with your pride and joy!
