I received some very sad news today. My friend and fellow breeder Paula King, her husband Bill, and a number of her yorkies passed in a house fire Saturday morning. I was shocked to read this news on her page this afternoon. Paula was a wonderful person, and she loved her family and her dogs with all of her heart. Her son was able to get out with 3 of the dogs but was unable to get to his parents or the rest of the dogs. Please pray for him as I can't even imagine what he has gone through and will continue to go through losing his parents so suddenly and in such a horrific way. Paula also has a two more sons, daughter in law, and granddaughter. Please keep them all in your prayers. Heartbreaking💔RIP my friend!!

I was just talking about getting an area fenced in the yard since I sold the outdoor run and have been taking my babies out on the screened porch we had made for them last year. As we stood in the driveway talking about it this hawk showed up reminding me how unsafe it is for them out in the yard!! After taking this picture we saw what we believe was an eagle soar overhead and a couple of huge turkey vultures. They are just fine getting their fresh air on the porch❤️❤️

This is exactly what I was taught to do by a trainer when these little ones act up. I hold them like this on their back and I turn away from them. When they relax, I let them down. I don't say a word and they may wiggle but you just have to be firm.

Please think about your decision and talk to your significant other, family, landlord, etc and be absolutely sure you are ready to take on this responsibility before messaging me. It is very frustrating and time consuming for me when customers tell me they definitely want a new family member just to say later they have changed their mind. Please be sure first!!

Now we will be taking a break for a couple of months. Family is coming to visit in May, and we have a trip in June. We should pick up again in July🤞 but only expect to have 2 deliveries, and then maybe 2 in the Fall. In the meantime, I will continue to post pics of our girls and boys and will update the website when the dating starts, possibly next month.
Good luck to Uhtred and Ulysses on their new adventures❤️❤️

Another reason my dogs go out on the screened porch! The outside run is just to the left of where this big bear was lounging and snacking tonight. Last night this bear pulled down all my feeders. My babies are safer on the covered and screened in deck. They love it out there. No ticks, no birds of prey, no coyotes, no bear!!

For some reason many people think that girls are better than boys. I can tell you boys are awesome. They love you, and tend to be a bit calmer, and they are just so cuddly! This boy is absolutely precious!!

I have gone back to the puppy food I used for years. Nurtisource small and medium breed puppy. I am getting the babies I have now on this food. I am still thinking about a new wet food but for now they are getting boiled chicken and rice that I made. I won't have new babies for a while now so I will be doing some research in the meantime!
Anyone who thinks this is such an easy job...You are incorrect!!!

FYI: Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed a problem with the pups. We did some fecals and they were normal so we couldn't figure out what was wrong. After talking with a breeder friend, I found out what the problem is. Health Extensions has changed their formula and it is causing some to have loose stools. I read an entire thread tonight about this with breeders from all over and I will be changing foods. We are phasing out the Health Extensions. I will no longer be an affiliate with that company and will be calling them tomorrow. I will continue to use Farmina Ancestral Grains Lamb and Blueberry mini adult with my adults, and I am doing some research so I can choose a good food to mix that with to take the place of the Health Extensions. I may go back to using Nutrisource puppy food or Royal Canin with my babies, but I am also looking into a couple of other brands that have been recommended to me from other breeders. I am pretty unhappy with the Health Extensions company for not telling us that they were changing the formula. If you are using the Health Extensions please keep an eye on your baby's stool. If it is loose, it may be the food.
I will no longer recommend this brand!

I thought this was good information to share!!
6 Surprising Things You Think Your Yorkie Loves, But Actually Hates
Are you wondering what are the things you think your dog loves but actually hates? Read on to find out 6 surprising things.
Dog ownership is a rewarding experience that comes with its share of responsibilities. As devoted dog parents, we often think we know exactly what makes our furry friends tick. We cuddle them, feed them special treats, and even talk to them in ‘baby voices’ because we think it makes them happy.
But what if some things we believe are making our dogs happy are actually doing the opposite? Here are six common misconceptions that could be causing your canine companion more stress than joy.
1) Hugs and Tight Embraces
Who doesn’t love a good hug? Humans find physical touch comforting, and it’s natural to think our dogs would feel the same.
However, most dogs do not like being hugged. Hugging, from a dog’s perspective, can feel restrictive and threatening. In the wild, placing a limb over another animal signifies dominance.
Many dogs feel trapped during hugs and may display signs of stress, such as pinned-back ears or lip-licking. Instead of hugging, show your affection by petting or using a calming touch on the neck or shoulders. Observe your dog’s body language carefully to ensure you’re making the experience enjoyable.
2) Using a ‘Baby Voice’
Talking to cute things in a high-pitched, exaggerated tone is almost instinctive. Many dog owners believe using a ‘baby voice’ is comforting or more engaging for their pets. However, research shows that while puppies may respond positively to a higher pitch, adult dogs don’t necessarily prefer it.
In fact, using a consistent, calm voice is more effective for giving commands and creating a sense of security for your dog. Save the baby talk for human babies.
3) Overfeeding with Treats

Treats are a common way to reward good behavior and bond with our dogs. But just as humans can suffer from overindulgence, so can dogs.
Overfeeding with treats can lead to obesity, digestive problems, and even behavioral issues if your dog starts to expect a treat for every little thing. Use treats sparingly and focus on other forms of positive reinforcement like verbal praise or extra playtime.
4) Intense Eye Contact

Making eye contact is often interpreted as a sign of confidence and attentiveness in human interactions. But prolonged eye contact is a sign of challenge or confrontation in the dog world.
While some well-socialized dogs may tolerate eye contact, many find it intimidating. Instead of maintaining a fixed gaze, try blinking softly when you look at your dog or turning your gaze away occasionally to show that you mean no harm.
5) Overexcited Greetings
As soon as you step through the door, your dog probably greets you with boundless energy and wagging tails. You might feel compelled to respond with an equally high-energy greeting, lifting your dog off its feet or showering it with enthusiastic pats.
However, such extreme welcomes can overstimulate your pet and set a frenzied tone for their energy levels for the rest of the day. A calm, controlled greeting reassures your dog and helps maintain a balanced energy level in your home.
6) Rough Play

Many dog owners enjoy roughhousing with their dogs, interpreting the pet’s excited behavior as a sign of enjoyment. While some play fighting can be fun and beneficial for dogs, it’s crucial to understand when it becomes too much.
Excessive rough play can lead to unintentional injuries, promote aggression, or make the dog anxious. Always be mindful of your dog’s body language during playtime, and know when to dial it down.
Conclusion
Being attuned to your dog’s needs and preferences is essential for building a strong and loving relationship. While it might be tempting to shower them with hugs or share your dinner, remember that dogs have different ways of perceiving the world.
Always prioritize their comfort and consult with a veterinarian for tailored advice. By taking the time to understand what truly makes your pet happy, you’ll be a step closer to being the best dog parent you can be.

Welcome to Anne’s Precious Yorkies in New Hampshire!

Raising Yorkies is a dream come true for me. A dream that started with my first meeting with a yorkie when I was 12. It may have taken many years to achieve this dream but now that I am here, I am learning and making sure I am raising the best and healthiest yorkie puppies I can. If one of my dogs turns up with an issue they are taken out of the breeding program. We have done genetic testing and the dogs tested were cleared of 5 terrier genetic conditions. Unfortunately the labs are not able to test for everything and some conditions are more environmental than genetic. We do our best but you always take a chance when bringing home a puppy of any breed.

I will never have more dogs than what I can comfortably care for properly. My dogs live in our home with us and are part of our family. I have a loving relationship with each of them. I love their unique personalities. We do what is best for our pups. Their health and well-being comes first.

Because we do not have a large number of girls, we do not have constant litters, but I can tell you my puppies are worth the wait. I have a 1 year guarantee against life threatening non treatable congenital health conditions. Of course there are illnesses and conditions that can come up that are not genetic, and there are genetic conditions that seem to come out of nowhere that are not familial but are conditions that can affect small dogs. I do my best to educate my customers on the care of their puppy before they bring them home. You can prevent many of the environmental conditions that can affect a Yorkie. Healthy food, preventive Vet care, and keeping your puppy where he/she can be observed are just a few general rules of thumb.

I do my best to keep myself available to my customers from the moment they contact me and for the life of their dog. Many of my past customers are now friends and we keep in touch. I like knowing how my babies are doing after they leave my home.
