I haven't been real active on this lately but since there are followers here and we do use PayPal --

PayPal scam alert! I just got one of these in my email but no, I didn't click on it.

This scam is especially nasty. Apparently all they have to do is know your email and send you an invoice -- through PayPal -- for just any old thing they want to bill you for.

The nasty part is that this means that the invoice actually is from PayPal. It's the person who sent it that is the crook.

So if you get an invoice from PayPal -- LOOK AT IT CAREFULLY -- make that sure you really bought it before you think about sending money.

If you regularly handle invoices as part of your job at the University at Buffalo, this one is especially dangerous. Fraudsters are sending fake invoices via PayPal… and some are paying up without thinking twice.

A big fat cat wandered into my yard. We had a photo session...and this is part of what happened later.
