As a KPA-CTP dog trainer, my personal training philosophy is clicker training. Clicker training is a positive reinforcement only method that allows the owner to build a strong and lasting positive relationship with their dog (or other animal). Clicker training uses a clicker to mark the precise moment the dog demonstrates a positive
behavior, and is scientifically proven to not only work better than more traditional training methods, but also avoids the negative side effects that often result from punishment based training methods. I will make home visits to work with you and your dog to improve some aspect of it's behavior. My first visit will take the format of a consultation, wherein I explain my methods, ask you to describe what you want from our sessions, and create a training plan with you if we mutually decide that further visits are the best idea. I have experience with anything from raising a hyperactive puppy, to complex tricks, to problem-solving certain behavioral issues. Even if I decide that I can't help your particular situation, I will be happy to refer you to a positive reinforcement trainer who may be able to help better than I would.
