It’s with a heavy heart, I would like to share with all of you, the passing of our beautiful girl, Martha. To some, this might come as a shock. Others, might have guessed the entrance to the rainbow bridge was in sight. This diamond in the rough was a true Cinderella story.
Once upon a time, she was looked at as property. Her original family did not see her value. Once Dogwood Animal Rescue Project noticed her, matched the slipper, they turned her into a Princess. We were lucky to have her choose our castle to reign over. She grew into a beautiful queen here. Stepping into the most uplifting, confident, entitled leader. 6 years she ruled over these lands. Reaching the ripe age of 9 yrs old. Meals became less appetizing as we came into this new year. Walks seemed harder to take. Her love for her bucket and subjects never faded 💜🐾. As much as we wished for her to rule these lands forever, we had to recognize her decline with age and the need for her to retire one more time to her final resting place.
The absence of her in front of the fireplace has left a void. The disiplining of the bucket is no more. The defending her castle from the vacuum has come to a halt. But her love and legacy will always live on with every life she touched, near and far. She wore her crown confidently and had her trusted bucket at her side to the very end. Our hearts are hurt, but her love can still fill them.
I will be keeping this page active as it serves as one of the best memorials full of her memories to revisit. I encourage everyone to scroll through it. To remember the walks to the lake where she would take down bushes and follow her bucket into high water. When she grabbed a full size garbage can as her newly appointed bucket. The view she loved and live she lived. We are proud and grateful to have shared these years with her and everyone who loved her too

Hi everyone, sorry for not posting. Life has been a little crazy and Facebook slips my mind 🙂 Martha is doing great! Still loving her bucket and retirement in the country. One of her favorite ways to pass the time is sleeping in front of our warm wood burning fireplace in the living room. So to keep Princess happy, we bought her an electric fireplace for the bedroom 🔥 🐶 💜 that way she can be just as comfortable in bed 💤
