Sissy is a wonderful girl. She was surrendered to Southern Oregon Bulldog Rescue because she isn't a fan of small dogs for sure, maybe not even most big dogs. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly and wants to be with her human all the time. Please help us find her the best forever home!

Anatomy of a Bulldog!!!!

It's fox tail season!! This wild grass is very prevalent in the Pacific Northwest, and can do incredible damage to dogs! The grass awns will work their way into a dog's skin easily, but because of the texture on the awns, they only move one direction, deeper into the animal and can be very difficult to remove. The x-ray on the image is of a foxtail tract that was injected with contrast medium to show just how far a foxtail can travel. The lesion between the toes of the foot on the bottom right is how these tracts will look to the naked eye. This is a great example of just how far foxtails can migrate in tissues. Common sights for fox tail entry include the paws, ears, eyes, nose and mouth, but they can happen anywhere on the dog's body. If not treated, they can be deadly. Bulldogs are especially prone to interdigital cysts, and a fox tail wound on the paw can easily be mistaken for this. Please see a vet if there's any chance the wound could be from a fox tail.
