🐾 **MEET RORY: A WIREFOX TERRIER LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME!** 🐾

Hello everyone!
Rory, a charming 8 year old Wirefox Terrier who's currently at K9 Furever (training spa) in VA is learning new skills and preparing for his forever family!

Rory came to us a few weeks ago and has been making good progress. He's a playful, loving, and absolutely silly boy with so much love to give! His wirefox terrier personality shines through his playful antics and sassy nature.

Rory is looking for an experienced dog owner who understands the balance between gentle guidance and consistent boundaries. He's eager to bond with his new family but needs clear direction on appropriate behaviors. With consistent training and patient reinforcement, Rory responds wonderfully to structure and quickly learns new routines.

The ideal home for Rory would be with adults who can provide loving consistency, plenty of play and exercise. When boundaries are clearly established, Rory transforms into the most delightful family companion you could ask for!

This is a courtesy post on behalf of a person who has been fostering a toy fox terrier that was abandoned at a vet office. Angel was in horrible shape, but after 6 months with her foster mom, lots of money spent on vet care, and lots of loves and cuddles, Angel is ready for a forever home. She lives in Tacoma, Washington, is approximate 8-9 years old, very affectionate, good with other dogs and adults (but has never been around small children, so her tolerance of them is unknown). She is UTD on shots and is now healthy. Anyone interested should call Sonya at 253-325-2432.

Shout out to an AFTR star adopter, Rik Wagner, who adopts senior wire fox terriers! He just adopted an 11 year old boy, Capers, whose owner could no longer care for him due to her own health issues. Thank you, Rik, for once again coming through for a senior wire needing a great home!

We have just become aware that this sweet 12 year senior named Kodie is in an independent rescue in Durham, NC. Unfortunately, his 82 year old mother was no longer able to care for him. Somebody needs to snap him up! 🌟 **HAPPY UPDATE: ROCKY THE WIRE FOX TERRIER STAYS HOME!** 🌟
We have some wonderful news to share about Rocky the Wire Fox Terrier!

Earlier this year, Rocky's family came to us feeling desperate and heartbroken. After exhausting many options, they thought relinquishing him to rescue might be their only choice left. But after getting to know them better and understanding their situation, we realized they might just need help in a different way.

Enter our "Fairy Dogmother," Lucinda! She's a magical, wonderful volunteer and dear friend of American Fox Terrier Rescue. Lucinda is incredibly knowledgeable about Wire Fox Terriers, having shared her life with many of these special pups. Each of her dogs has benefited greatly from her tenacity and willingness to learn, adjust, and adapt to their needs.

One of Lucinda's dogs required a special diet and nutritional supplements. When speaking with our rescue volunteer Jill, Lucinda recognized that Rocky was showing very similar symptoms to what her dog had experienced. We connected the two families, and we're overjoyed to report that after seeing a new vet and implementing the supplements and nutritional changes that Lucinda had successfully used with her precious Pepper, Rocky is now able to stay in his original home and is doing VERY well!

Thank you all for trusting us and being open-minded and willing to try new approaches. And a special thank you to our dear Lucinda, our Fairy Dogmother - we love you! ❤️

Hi! I’m Rocky!
My birthday is Jan 27, 2017. I am seven years young and currently taking applications to see who I may want to move in with. I have lived w my current people in Maryland since i was a pup. Its a bit complicated but Its time for me to find my next great adventure.
As you can see, I am cute and cuddly. I'm fierce, protective, loyal and enjoy lounging around the house and barking from the window at dogs passing by. I dont like traveling in the crate in the car or when my people leave to go to work. I like to take short walks. I love attention, and cuddling on the sofa with my people. I also like to sit in chairs at the dinner table and at the kitchen island (I like to hang out with my people as much as I can). I have skin allergies which started when I was 6 months old and get Cytopoint shots every 4-6 weeks to help reduce my itching. I’ve recently been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome due to a food allergy and have started eating hypoallergenic dog food to get things under control. I am lovable and at times a little crazy. If you would like me to consider moving in with you, please fill out an application.

We have two more sweet 🦊 foxies to welcome to the AFTR family. Meet Benjamin and Mickey. This two year old female and male were surrendered to us from a breeding situation. Thankfully our highly resourceful volunteers collaborated to get these two into a very safe and terrier savvy foster environment. They will both need to be spayed/neutered. They are two years old and can be separated. Benjamin is in the first two pics and Mickey in the last three. If you are interested in fostering and/or adopting these two in the central Florida area and surrounding, please fill out our application. We will post more as we get to know these two sweet souls.
