This handsome Frenchie man was very anxious during his visit to Morena Pet Hospital, but all was well once his technician began feeding him peanut butter. 🥜😋

*Disclaimer: Please note, some forms of peanut butter contain Xylitol. Xylitol is sugar substitute commonly found in gum and other food items. Unfortunately, Xylitol is extremely toxic and harmful to pets. Additionally, peanut butter may not be appropriate for pets with certain medical conditions (i.e. pancreatitis or diabetes). We recommend you check with your family veterinarian before supplementing your pet's diet with peanut butter to ensure it is safe!

This handsome gentleman, Dexter, decided that these rocks looked like a great snack. Unfortunately, this decision resulted in a visit to Governor Animal Clinic, Inc..

An x-ray was performed & found the rocks were still in the stomach. Dr. Bonadio was able to use her Karl Storz endoscopy equipment to safely retrieve the rocks. Endoscopy is a common, non-invasive way to retrieve items mischievous pets (like Dexter here) decide to eat that aren’t safe for them.

A pup named Mya was enjoying life, running through a field when she suddenly started coughing. After a visit to her primary DVM, she didn't respond to usual medications.

Aviara Animal Health Center called in Dr. Bonadio to perform endoscopy to see what was going on. There was a blade of grass hanging out in her trachea that was causing this trouble! Mya will recover just fine & go back to being a carefree pup. Great job to everyone involved! 👏🥰

Cecily Bonadio, DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Cecily Bonadio obtained her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 2010, and then returned there for her Internal Medicine residency, finishing in 2015. She obtained board certification in 2016 and after a brief time in Berkeley, decided it was time to come home to San Diego. Endocrinology and autoimmune disease are favorite parts of Internal Medicine for Dr. Bonadio. Cecily is also interested in the management of chronic disease, geriatric medicine, endoscopy and ultrasound. Dr. Bonadio enjoys explaining all the options involved in the care of her patients and deciding which is the best choice for her clients. Cecily loves living in sunny San Diego and when not at work can be found either at the beach with her two dogs, Zach and Olive, or in Ramona with her horse, Skylar.
