We're so excited for Syl to have her first litter next spring! She's such a gorgeous marshmallow girl with an equally lovely temperament. 🥹💝 The Stormlight Litter will produce 95%+ high content wolfdogs, sired by our handsome teddy bear of a boy, Genn.

We have female openings for this litter, as well as one opening for someone who is flexible on their puppy's s*x and color. (Two males have already been reserved.) Genn and Syl can produce black phase, wolf grey, and arctic type puppies!

The estimated COI for this litter is just 4%!

Both Genn and Syl are Clear for all testable genetic disorders on Embark's genetic health panel.

Syl's OFA's are taking place on November 7th! She'll be getting certified for her hips, elbows, patellas, cardiac, and eye health.

Genn is already OFA health tested: Hips Good, Elbows Normal, Patellas Normal, Basic Cardiac Normal, Full Dentition, CAER Normal with *Breeder Option (*Posterior Y-Suture Tip Opacities).

Happy 25 weeks this past Wednesday, Velkan! He's looking so handsome and grown up already 🥹🤧😭 but definitely still acts like the giant baby he is! 😂🖤 His weight stalled out this week (69 lbs!), but he was a bit of a picky eater the past few days, so that might have played a part in it.

He's definitely still getting taller, though! We also own his 1st cousin, Cassie, and she hit a huge growth spurt in November of her first year, so I'm expecting to see Velkan sprout even more in the next month, too!

Happy 24 weeks this past Wednesday, Velkan! We decided to move his picture/weigh-in day to Saturdays, since the days are getting shorter and it's getting darker pretty fast after Dustin gets home from work. Velkan weighs 69 lbs today! That's a 7 lbs gain from last week on Friday! 😳 Who wants to order him a saddle for Christmas? 🤣😅🐎

Cassie met our repro vet today for a reproductive wellness exam and abdominal ultrasound. She did fantastic for the entire appointment, no sedatives and no muzzle needed! 👏 She gave everyone kisses and let me roll her over for the vet to shave her belly. She was totally fine with a male tech holding her front half stable while I held her back legs for the ultrasound. Such a good girl! 💕💕

The vet was very thorough with the ultrasound and didn't see any abnormalities with Cassie's uterus and ovaries, so we have the green light to try breeding her again next February! Fingers crossed that it works with the guidance of this repro vet. (The previous clinic we tried back in February didn't give us the correct information on timing the breeding, so it didn't even have a real chance at success. ☠️)

I really like how this vet takes her time answering all my questions in detail, explains everything she's doing and looking for, gives me references to further my own knowledge, etc. I know our attempt with Genn and Fay's AI breeding for our planned low content litter didn't work out just a couple months ago, even though we did everything by the book, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Even natural breedings don't take 100% of the time. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Cohen as our reproductive specialist. We'll keep our fingers crossed for puppies next year! 💝🐾

Usually, the saying, "Don't wake the sleeping wolf," means to avoid stirring up trouble, but in our house, it literally means try not to interrupt naptime! True to their wolf heritage, Velkan and our other wolfdogs are crepuscular, meaning they tend to be most active in the mornings and evenings, preferring to sleep throughout most of the day and night. Puppies need extra rest, though, because their body is putting so much energy into growing! 😴🖤🐺

Happy 23 weeks on Wednesday, Velkan! We're a day later than we usually post, sorry! He weighed in at 62 lbs 6 oz today and is officially 27 inches tall at the withers! I think we've now hit the point where Dustin has to lift him up for future weigh-ins on the scale, instead of me. 😅😳 We just have his stack picture to share today, but will share lots of candids tomorrow! 🖤🐺
