Each that comes into our care is vaccinated, microchipped and spay/neutered before they are ready for their furever home.

At the end of the day, our mission is to keep dogs off the streets through our three programs—It’s Hip to Chip, A Dog is Forever, and Family Fest.

How I Became a Dog:
A kind human took me from my first owner who was trying to set me loose in a neighborhood.

A Little About Me:
I am a super sweet boy who loves attention from humans of any age! I haven’t met any dogs yet, but the humans think I would do great with other pups and cats. I like to run after toys and sit for treats, but I also love getting belly rubs while laying in your lap. I would be the perfect addition to any family!

Sasha and Rocket got adopted today! Sasha goes home to be the sole companion of her new mom. Rocket- the last remaining Guardians of the Galaxy Puppy- becomes the first "child" for his new parents. Happy tails pups! 💜🐾❤️

We are launching our "Gotcha Day" campaign in the hope that we can get some of these dogs adopted! All of the dogs in our care have been with us for at least two months. That is outrageous! We know times are tough right now, so we are adding a few extra goodies to help our adopters get started on the right paw with their new dog!

Bailey has been adopted!!
This little dude's stay with us was way too long, but the right family finally came for him. We are so proud of the progress Bailey made while he was with us. He started as a super scared and shy dog, but with patience, love, and some help from his buddies Spud and Maggie, he grew to be an outgoing and playful pup. We are so happy for Bailey (now Brisket) and his new family!! 💙🐾

Why on Earth do we have this many puppies still in our care?!?!

While at our shelter these sweethearts are getting plenty of socialization, mental enrichment, and learning necessities like basic commands and potty-training, but these precious weeks of their young lives could be spent in a home with a family.

INCREDIBLY HUGE THANK YOU to Parker & Sons for coming in clutch today!
One of our A/C units was not blowing cool air into our shelter. Thankfully, two technicians were available to come to the shelter, quickly assess the problem, recognize that another unit was displaying issues as well, and repair everything! All in two hours! Amazing! There is a reason Parker & Sons is the featured donor of our shelter's playroom. They continue to keep our facility in perfect working order, to ensure our personnel and pups are safe and comfortable. Thank you !

A microchip success story from ! Did you know that provides microchips to all dogs adopted at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control via our It’s Hip to Chip Program?

On May 17, one of our field officers received a call for a confined stray. After arriving at the scene, the officer scanned the dog for a microchip, and luckily, the dog was chipped! This allowed the officer to find out the owner’s information. They gave the owner a call, and the owner was very excited to hear that their dog, Shadow, was found. She was missing for 5 days, and it turns out that the finder picked her up right outside the dog owner’s house without knowing! We’re so happy Shadow is back home safe and sound! 🐾🤍✨🏠

Shadow was reunited with her family, thanks to the power of microchips! Microchips are one of the most effective tools to reunite owners with their lost pets. Murphy has finally been adopted!! It was a long road- 612 days to be exact- but we never lost hope that Murphy's human would find us. We want to thank everyone who was a part of Murphy's journey to adoption. And we want to thank his new mom for being so dedicated to making our dream of Murphy having a loving family and home, a reality. We are so proud of her and our Murphanator!

Sweet Gemma gave us quite the scare this morning, with having a seizure! 🥺
We’re so thankful Madison was able to get us in quickly to run some tests.
Gemma has been through so much these last few months. From tick fever, to ring worm, and now this. We hope this the end of her health scares and on the road to recovery and finding her furever home!
Through it all, even this morning, she’s back to her wiggle butt self. Nothing can keep this sweet pup down.
