ADOPTED! Echo is a beautiful Flatcoat retriever who came to AGA when he was found as a stray and the local shelter called when no one claimed him. He is a very smart and very active boy filled with love to give. Unfortunately, he came to us with heartworms so he needed to be in a home where he could go through treatment and recover fully. His new family lost their beloved Flatcoat a few years ago and when I called her to ask how Echo was doing, she said, he's staying here! Echo was adopted into their family and is enjoying his time as the token good boy.

ADOPTED! Jeffrey is a stunning one-and-a-half-year-old Golden Retriever that AGA was fortunate to rescue from the illegal dog meat trade overseas. Once he arrived in the US, he made himself right at home in his foster’s bed, finally able to rest easy. As he adjusted to life as a pet, we discovered that he loved other dogs, cats, and especially food. His new family was on the lookout for a new family member to spoil and join them on their adventures. They were smitten with Jeffrey from the start, but it was up to the grandkids to decide if he was the right fit. Well, Jeffery, now Finley, passed the test with flying colors! He’s now enjoying having parents who work from home, spending weekends at Chattahoochee Park, and looking forward to his weekly visits from the grandkids. Welcome home, Finley!

ADOPTED! Bryson is a beautiful 14-month-old Golden Retriever who joined AGA after his breeder decided to stop breeding Golden Retrievers. Initially intended to be a stud dog, we felt Bryson would thrive much better as a beloved pet. He is a true velcro dog, so much so that he likes to walk between your legs while on a leash. He needed someone who would give him all the attention he craved. Enter his new family. They had been looking for over a year for the perfect dog. They knew they had found "their dog" the moment they welcomed Bryson into their home as a foster. They are excited for Bryson, now Buxton, to join them on many walks and adventures, enjoy playdates with the neighborhood dogs, and give him all the love and attention he deserves. Welcome home, Buxton!

ADOPTED! Grayton pup came to AGA with his mom and siblings and is the water lover of the bunch! He was a shy and submissive boy but when his new mom met him, she fell absolutely in love! She is an AGA volunteer and was looking for a new friend to join her family. Grayton is now named Ben Crenshaw, after the professional golfer, someone his mom is a fan of! He likes to be with his mom, go for walks, play with his friends, and just be the best boy :) Ben Crenshaw is one spoiled pup!

ADOPTED! Allen pup, now Beau, was brought into AGA with his mom and siblings when he was just a tiny thing. He found himself looking for the perfect forever family! With a stay-at-home mom, a teenage human brother to play with and two canine siblings, Beau fit right in. He loves to hang out with his brother Gunnar and play in their huge backyard! He also likes to wake his dad up very early and cuddle on the couch :) He has a pool in his backyard and gets to take long walks with mom every day. This puppy won the jackpot and is absolutely loved by his new family!

ADOPTED! Oakley was brought to AGA with her mama Lady and siblings and was living in a wonderful foster home until she could be adopted. In comes an amazing couple who longed for a golden to add to their family. Dad had the pleasure of helping his grandparents care for their two goldens growing up so he knew that's the breed he wanted to bring into their home. They work from home, have a cat who acts like a dog, and plenty of love to devote to their new furbaby. This couple was so prepared, they showed up with a binder full of information on Golden retrievers and how to best care for them! We have absolutely no doubts, Oakley, now Indie, will live her best life with her new family!!

ADOPTED! Chester came to AGA as a stray but quickly won some AGA hearts. He was popular at our Meet & Match event but it became clear that he wanted to be a part of one particular family. They clearly loved him and he was clearly smitten. He had to get a thumbs up from the resident dog Ellie who quickly decided he was her new bff. Chester is now Cooper and the two dogs are inseparable. They help out in the home office when they're not off playing in the yard. The kids are waiting excitedly for Cooper to be released from his cone (from his neuter) so they can all tumble around the yard together. Congratulations to Cooper and everyone who helped him find his forever home a new best friend!

Over the next few weeks, we'll showcase incredible Golden Retrievers who are looking for their furever homes and have already captured our hearts with their bravery, resilience, and golden spirit. ✨🐾

ADOPTED! Ariel and Lady came to AGA from a breeder who was no longer operating their business. Lady was pregnant and gave birth to her 9 puppies in a loving foster home. Once all the pups were adopted, she joined her sister with a foster and they had an absolute blast! They truly love each other and everyone at AGA saw how they thrived when together. Her new mom and dad, along with their youngest daughter, met Ariel and Lady at the Meet and Match and ranked them as their #1 and #2. We gave them a call and asked if they would consider taking both girls and they said yes! Their last dog had some challenges after being rescued so we knew they were going to be the perfect fit for the girls so they could continue to train and work with them to be the best golden girls. Lady and Ariel enjoy hanging out with their human siblings, going for walks and being loved on. This was a perfect fit that took a village to make happen! Thanks to all!

ADOPTED! Rosie 2 (lovingly named because we had another Rosie in AGA at the time) was surrendered by her owner when their living situation changed and they wanted Rosie to have the best life possible. They knew AGA would find her a wonderful family and that we did! Her new mom and dad lost their golden too soon and their dog Truman missed having a golden in the home. They met with Rosie and she and Truman hit it off! Truman is impeccably trained and is showing Rosie how good it is in their new home! She loves going on walks, car rides and cuddling on the couch. She is very happy to be with her new family!

Cuteness Vibe Alert! Happy from one of our newest rescues, 10-week-old Ponyboy 💙🐾 While he’s not yet featured on our website, we couldn't resist sharing these adorable photos from his foster home. He's clearly settling in beautifully and sleeping soundly, just like a newly rescued pup does when they know they’re safe and loved! Ponyboy is currently on medical hold and just as soon as he is cleared by his doctors he will be placed on our website for adoption. Until then, enjoy this puppy face and his unstoppable pink jammy top!

ADOPTED! Pongo came to AGA when his family realized he had so much energy and they were just not able to keep up with him. Pongo loves chasing tennis balls and anyone carrying one was instantly his best friend. Unfortunately, Pongo also had some trust issues and was very wary of strangers, and sudden movements. He also became very excited when he saw another dog & would bark and pull to go to them. His wonderful foster parents used their vast experience with dogs to calm him with love, patience and a lot of training. Of course this all took many months to accomplish and Pongo became more and more attached to his "temporary" home including the foster's two other dogs. It became clear that Pongo had already found his home, he just hadn't told his fosters that yet! His new mom and dad have adopted from AGA several times in the past and their current dogs, Oliver and Meeka are accomplished in dock diving and scent training for Oliver and Meeka is the speed demon in CAT races. Both have earned ribbons in their events and mom is like the doggie soccer mom carting them from one event to another. While mom is gone with the current athletes, Pongo takes advantage of a quiet house to snuggle with dad, but that is all about to change for him. When contacted to see if Pongo was happy with the news of his adoption, his mom said this: Pongo convinced us to adopt him, finding a place with a Doodle sister and Golden brother. He is looking forward to finding a sport that suits him so he can collect lots of ribbons like his new four-footed siblings have. Stay Tuned. Looks like another athlete for this home! Maybe they can host the Doggie Olympics! Have a happy, fun-filled life Pongo!

ADOPTED! Sunday girl was retired from breeding after she was done having puppies so she could live out the rest of her years as a spoiled house dog! Her new mom was looking for a friend for her beloved Golden Griffyn and they drove all the way from South Carolina to meet Sunday! Sunday, now spelled like the sweet treat Sundae, was a little shy and wasn't quite sure about this new house but once she saw how happy Griffyn was, she started playing with toys and following him around! Her favorite place to lay is the cold bathroom floor to get cool during these hot Southern days. Sundae and Griffyn are two of the most spoiled dogs ever and that's exactly what she deserves!

ADOPTED! As a retired breeder weighing nearly 100 lbs, Knuckles was initially unsure about life as a 'pet'. However, AGA knew he was destined for a wonderful life. Cautious and uncertain, he found the most comfort in the bathroom at first. But we quickly discovered that with the companionship of another dog, Knuckles' personality blossomed. His new family were previous adopters with a soft spot for seniors and were committed to helping Knuckles reach his full potential. With lots of praise and reassurance, he gradually moved from the bathroom to the living room, and now loves life on the couch. Renamed Lando, he is enjoying a big fenced yard with a pool, a Jack Russell brother who boosts his confidence, and parents who are home to shower him with all the love and attention he deserves. Welcome home, Lando!!
