The CAWS is an animal welfare society in the Greater Edmonton area. We provide animal care through our Guardian Angel Program.

CAWS provides a safe refuge for cats and dogs requiring temporary care while their families are in life transition. We are located in the Greater Edmonton area and all animals that come into CAWS care are provided love and compassion while they are in our Guardian Angel Program. While in the Guardian Angel Progam, animals are provided emergency veterinary care (if needed) and temporary care for an

imals who's families lives may be in transition. These transitions may include:

1. Victims of Domestic Violence - for families that are needing to flee from domestic abusers and seek shelter

2. Military Deployment Respite - for members of the Canadian Military who are to be deployed but want to reunite with their pets upon their return.

3. Medical Respite - temporary short term foster care for animals who's owners that need extended hospital care or at home recovery time.

4. Disaster Relief Care - temporary foster care and emergency veterinary care for animals whose families have been displaced from their homes due to flood, fire or other natural disasters. Please visit our website for more information on our Guardian Angel Programs.

I was introduced to Fishi today… We like each other…. from the distance! 😅🐟 This adorable cat is Willow and she’s up for adoption at The CAWS. Willow has a lovely puur-sonality! She’s a pretty mellow and adaptable lady tabby. She loves to play and entertain herself with balls and feather wands. Her favourite thing to do is to watch birds from the window for hours. Baxter

Baxter came to the CAWS as a stray puppy with a leg injury and extremely undernourished. He’s now plump and healed. The time has come to find this sweet boy his very own home. Baxter is a social butterfly who captures your attention and then loves on anyone who meets him. We think he is making up for lost time! He is adjusting well to cats, dogs and children and will likely do well in a home setting with any of the three. He loves: -antler chews -rope toys -car rides -snuggles -naps on the couch -playing with humans and dogs He has shown to pick up social cues from more experienced dogs and is “cookie” motivated when learning new commands. He will even put himself in his kennel when he sees you getting ready to leave just so he can get his treat. Gingerbread

Welcome, welcome, welcome! If you are just joining us, behold! The amazing! The ferocious (not really), circus animal wannabe... Gingerbread!! This sweet little boy has the longest hair of his litter and looks like a tiny lion. When he's not cleaning that ah-mazing mane of his, he is chasing the other cats in his foster home and playing with his toys. If a human is sitting or laying down somewhere, they need to beware... as this adaptable orange floof will be quick to lay beside them for a nap and may disable them from going anywhere for hours. As he is a socialable, high energy floof, he would do excel in a home with another cat to play with. He's been fostered and previously adopted with his brother, Gingerale, but were recently returned to The CAWS due to allergies. They're not a bonded pair, but they get along grrrreat together and keep each other entertained. Are you a person or family in need of a little lion (or two) to love? CAWS provides a safe refuge for cats and dogs that have been abused, neglected, abandoned and surrendered or requiring temporary care while their families are in life transition. We are located in the Greater Edmonton area and all animals that come into CAWS care are provided love and compassion while they are in our Adoption Program or our Guardian Angel Program. CAWS promotes responsible pet ownership by providing education and encouragement of spaying or neutering, vaccinating as well as the importance of microchipping. We are not only advocates against animal abuse, but are also advocates against domestic abuse. We help by providing victims information on how to prepare to have your pet leave when they do, as well as providing temporary care of animals for families that are fleeing domestic violence. CAWS aids in life-long pet ownership by military pet owners by providing educational resources and temporary to short term care for their pets while deployed. While in the Adoption Program animals are provided veterinary care, spayed or neutered, microchipped, brought up to date on vaccinations and most importantly given a warm home to rest in and a full food dish to eat out of. CAWS believes that all of the animals in our care deserve love and compassion and the opportunity to be part of a loving Furever Family.
