So proud of Quincy Q !! Just a few months ago she did not know where her rear feet were. Her mom Peggy has done an AWESOME job in conditioning class and look at her now rocking lateral stepping with back feet in the ladder. Quincy also has mastered her pivoting, independent leg lifts, placing all four feet on paw pods, and more. To say what an incredible transformation this has been in only a few months would be an understatement. Good girl Quincy !!! Super job Peggy!! You guys are total rockstars !! 🤩🤩🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️💫✨🌟🏆🥇

With the recent talk of MSS /MSI on social media among agility dogs I did some shoulder strengthening exercises with Tracker from my recent Leslie Eide conditioning for weaves course. This was the first time we did the exercises and I really liked how easy they were but so effective. I highly recommend this course and look forward to bringing some of these exercises to my future seminars. Happy Training !

Trackers lateral step in slo mo.

I teach a method for lateral stepping I really like in my seminars. Avenger is starting to get his independent lateral stepping. Lateral stepping is a transverse movement dogs would not necessarily do naturally. It strengthens therefore those abductor and adductor muscle groups needed for canine athletes. We are still working on form but you want to look for purposeful side step movement - I did not reward when he simply walked to the mat. I also slow-mo videoed Trackers lateral step to demonstrate the movement.

Don't believe that saying that old dogs can't learn new tricks!As part of a good conditioning program for your dog - teaching them new things and or tricks should also be included. This helps provide mental stimulation that's important to your dogs overall well being. I reviewed some tricks from the new AKC Trick Dog program and set out to see what my dogs could do. Here are Tracker's two new tricks he learned today. If you haven't seen this list check it out! Fitness for K-9s

I started my business in 2014 being a distributor for FitPAWs and Back on Track products. I have been training dogs for over 10 years and I compete and titled in a wide array of canine sports - agility, obedience, rally, herding, barn hunt, and dock diving - with my four dogs. I became passionate about canine fitness when I rehabbed by own dog back from an injury 5 years ago. I saw first hand how a regular fitness program helped him be stronger, improve his confidence and performance and at nearly 10 years old be in better shape now than he was at 5. I never want anyone to go through that process of seeing their dog hurting - and I want to share what I learned in hopes of preventing similar injuries. Through FitPAWs and the University of Tennessee I became a Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) and I hold classes, privates and seminars helping owners learn how to keep their canine pets healthy and fit. Whether you have a canine performance sport dog or just a canine BFF - I can help you achieve your fitness goals for your dog that help them be physically stronger to prevent injury, provide mental stimulation, build endurance, and also build a stronger bond with you. I focus on fitness being both positive and fun for the dogs and for the owners.
