For everyone waiting for a larger wheel than the G5 Ferris, here is the larger 60 inch (inner diameter) GRAND FerrisCatWheel. Wheelbase with 8 skatewheels is designed for the wheel to sit lower to the ground.

While the G5 is more than large enough for most cats, the GRAND FerrisCatWheel is designed for those special cats with exceptionally longer bodies which needed more space for wheel comfort & safety.

How I began ZiggyDoo to bring the Ferris Cat Wheel into the lives of cats, and to bring happiness to cats and their humans

Back in 2012, my wonderful bengal kitten Nikita became an important part of my world (some would say the center of my world !). She has taught me everything I know about bengals and has expanded my relationship with her as a cat - for bengals are like having a cat, dog, monkey and ferret all in one beautiful body.

And thus began my adventure with cat wheels! Back then, everyone on the bengal forums was talking about cat wheels and how they were a necessity. Like so many people, I too rolled my eyes at the thought of bringing such a huge item (and investment) into my home.

Haha! Within 6-8 months Nikita quickly taught me that the wheel was an absolute necessity if we were all of us to keep our sanity! Wheels were different then - big and clunky. My first wheel was a Petwheel - their first attempt at modular version to make shipping easier. Nikita was on this thing before we could finish assembly! I was amazed and so very entertained! But the wheel was so poorly designed and the bearings were inadequate (kept seizing up and dripping grease everywhere almost every month) - so I had to redesign so much of it.

So I started researching different brands of cat wheels. We ended up trying out another 3 different brands of cat wheels. The first two were huge disappointments, either too small, or safety and quality issues etc.... But on the third one, we got our first Ferris Cat Wheel and absolutely loved it - Nikita could run like a demon and the wheel was wonderful - safe, solid and sturdy. I paid a rather huge amount to order that first wheel since had to be shipped to me from Malaysia. And I also got another Ferris Cat Wheel for Chatopia Cat Rescue in Montreal.

Around 6 months later, I became distributor for Ferris Cat Wheel and so I launched ZiggyDoo on September 1st, 2016 and began importing increasingly larger and larger batches of wheel inventory. It has been an adventure and a challenge, doing almost everything myself from the website, to the importing, handling the big boxes, the advertising and designs, photos, cat shows, trade shows, assembly videos, ... and on and on. And it has all been so wonderful. ZiggyDoo gives me the opportunity to provide support and aid to many rescues and refuges in Canada and in USA, provide supportive Referral programs for breeders, and especially important, supporting the funding for FIP research organized by ZenByCat so that we can one day end this disease by having a cure available. http://www.ziggydoo.com/en/zen-by-cat/97-ferris-cat-exercise-wheel.html

And the best part of it all is the immense satisfaction of seeing wheels go out to new homes, bringing safe fun exercise to cats and all pets (under 25 lbs). The benefits are so many! And the wonderful cat stories shared about health regained, weight lost, behavioural issues solved, and just plain old simple happiness .... there are so many. I am blessed to part of the Ferris Cat Wheel evolution and adventure.

PS: And as for Nikita, she is my partner in ZiggyDoo and keeps me going. We do leash walks, forest trail walks, obstacle course stuff, little training tricks... Nikita helps me garden during the summer, and play in the snow in the winter, take little trips together... and still she is on her FerrisCatWheel from ZiggyDoo at least 2 hours each day!
