26 years of raising Wheatens! We have every reference for every puppy we've sold, not many breeders can say that. Our passion is our Wheatens! Why a Wheaten?? They are HYPOALLERGENIC, don't shed, have soft hair(hence the name, "Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers")(similar to human hair). They have the best temperament and get along well with other dogs, cats and animals as long as you introduce them correctly. They have so much love to give. They only bark when someone knocks at the door. They have what is called a "Wheaten Welcome", in which they are happy happy happy to see you for the first minute. They follow you from room to room and love to lay on you while you are on the couch/chair.
We carefully choose our sire and dams and we care for them and the puppies as well...with lots of love ❤️🐕💙🐕❤️🐕💙
We own 6 Wheatens, 2(Princess Leia and Sky Walker) are retired(can't part with them,after all they are family), 1 stud dog(Jango Fett) and 3 females(Padme, Rey Skywalker, and Jyn Erso) that we breed. My son also owns a female(Maz Kanata) that we also breed. All of our dogs are genetically tested to ensure healthy puppies. Our dogs live inside our home. They have run of the house. They have their own places to sleep. They fill our couch and chairs. They get treats every time they come in from using the bathroom and during training. Our puppies are born inside our home, closely monitored and introduced to outside(depending upon the weather) around 4 weeks old. We bathe them once a week (and the day of pick up). Then we have puppy play dates where the grandchildren and neighbors can play and socialize(lots of love) with them. They are weaned and eating soft puppy food and are ready for their forever homes around 8 weeks of age. Up until covid hit, they were sold before they were born. Our waitlist stayed full. Our next litter should be around December/January.

The worst part about raising Wheatens is when the stud dog is continuously whining and moaning because he can't get to the females that are in heat. 😜❤️🐕❤️

All puppies 🐶 😍 ❤️ have their forever homes! We have 1 on the waitlist and they have first pick of their chosen gender. Our next litter should be at the end of the year as we are skipping a heat cycle after their litters.

My wife and I were looking for a dog to join our family. We were looking for specific characteristics in our chosen breed. We needed a dog that could be comfortable around multiple generations. We were looking for a mild mannered, friendly, outgoing breed. After researching, we focused on the Wheaten breed. They not only met our requirements but they thrive on social interactions. The fact that they do not shed was a plus. We got our first male dog in 1997. We loved the breed so much we got our female next in 1998. Family and friends started asking for us to have a litter so they could get a Wheaten for their family. We had our first litter in 1998. Walker’s Wheatens was founded. We love our Wheatens. They are part of our family. We are selective with the dogs we choose for breeding. We strive to breed quality healthy dogs. We limit the females to one litter a year to increase the health of our pets. We have one retired male, one active breeding male and two breeding females. My son also has a breeding female. As with any family member, they visit the vet regularly for checkups, worming, flea and tick meds, etc. Our goal as breeders is to allow other families to enjoy Wheatens as part of their family as much as we love ours. We have all of our references from 1999 till present. Sire and stud on site. You are welcome to come visit us.

What's so great about a Wheaten?
Their temperament is their best feature as our puppy owners will concur. They are so lovable. They follow you from room to room. They think they are lap dogs. Did I mention that they are HYPOALLERGENIC?
We also Embark(genetic testing for hereditary diseases) our dogs to make sure you get a healthy puppy that will live a full life. Their hair is soooo soft. I could go on and on...

What sets us apart from other breeders, is that we Embark(genetic testing for hereditary diseases) our dogs to make sure you get a healthy puppy that will live a full life. Our puppies have their tails docked, dew claws removed, first round of shots, vet paperwork/vet guarantee, AKC paperwork, and an AKC puppy kit as well. They have been socialized with my grandchildren and puppy play dates,the last 3 weekends. I am fixing to post them in the Charlotte and Raleigh paper. They are 8,almost 9 weeks old. They were born November 16th and 18th.
