Happy 15th birthday Miko!!!

Miko, I know you’re starting to feel tired, your bones ache and your heart beats irregularly. Even though 14 years feels like a blink of an eye, you’ve touched so many of us for so many years.

Even though you have a hard time seeing with your milky eyes, you somehow always know when a familiar face arrives.

Getting up to walk is a struggle and sometimes I see you grunt in pain yet somehow you still have the s***k shine through from time to time of when you were a puppy or two (years old).

This Christmas, one of the biggest gifts I’m thankful for is having you, Miko, with us another year. I know you are fighting so strongly to stay here even though your organs are starting to fail you. You are the biggest fighter I have seen alongside Suki, and I appreciate every moment I get to spend with you.

I don’t mind when you bite my foot because I walked next to you, I don’t care that you bark (still) for absolutely no reason at all, it doesn’t bother me that you beg me for extra food or treats, I’ll never get upset with you for throwing your tantrums in the middle of the night in your soft crate, and most importantly… I will never not spoil you.

I’m thankful for the amazing 14 years you’ve given me and I hope that I can make your last years the best possible. You have been with me throughout all of my hardships in this life, all of my 20’s and into my 30’s. I’m happy to have been here for your whole entire life.
