Little White Dog Pet Photography Photography sessions in and around Sioux Falls, SD designed to show your pet's joy for life and the special bond that they share with you.

I believe that a dog chooses his human be it from a shelter or a litter of puppies. So, I started my Sioux Falls business with the purpose of showing pet owners like you that you were not just some random person who came into their life; you are the one they chose... and the one they would choose again. I’ve been photographing dogs and their humans for over a decade with a special emphasis on the bond that they share. Loyalty goes both ways and it describes my dog parents as well as their dogs.

I've had more end of life Zoe Sessions lately than I would like. It's always sad when we have to say goodbye, but I'm thankful for those who can let their dogs go when it's time.
Sandy was one of the dogs I photographed over the last 2 months who meant so much to her dog mom. We got some beautiful pictures of Sandy the night before she said her goodbyes. You can see more on the blog. ❤️🐾

For those of you who participated in the fundraiser a few months ago, I wanted to introduce you to Jenny Eggers. Her non-profit, 605 Roots received over $2500 from your generous donations and participation. Jenny tells me that the money came at the perfect time. They've moved to a new place with an arena and that arena just needs the "flooring" redone to make it perfect for indoor therapy. Jenny is the June/July Sioux Falls Woman and you can read about how she got to where she is now in the latest issue of Sioux Falls Woman Magazine!

It's finally truly blue sky season. I hope you've been enjoying the past few gorgeous days like Hermes here has. ❤️☀️

While I was visiting my boys in Colorado this past weekend, the new Sioux Falls Woman Magazine hit the stands. I'm so lucky to get to photograph and at the same time get to know these amazing women in our community. The cherry on top is always when they have a dog... or goat (or both!). Glean for Good is just one of Dr. Beth Jensen's amazing contributions to our community. You can read about it in this month's issue. ❤️

One last thank you to all the pups and their humans who participated in the Pawsitivity fundraiser sessions! It's a lot of work for me, but you make it so much fun raising money for a great cause. 605 Roots will be receiving a check for $2520 because of you! Hope to see you at next year's sessions! ❤️🐾

THANK YOU to all who participated in the Pawsitivity fundraiser sessions this year! I loved seeing and meeting all of you and your dogs!! ❤️🐾

I had soooo many people comment on the charity this year and I have to tell you this makes me so happy! The reason I started these yearly sessions was to bring awareness to charities and non-profits who are not as well known as others might be. I was so impressed with 605 Roots and I love that so many others are, too now. ❤️ Because of you and your dogs I will be taking Jenny a check of $2520!!!

On Tuesday registration will open for this year's Pawsitivity fundraiser sessions. For those who are new, these are sessions to raise money and awareness for a deserving charity in the area. This year there will be two themes. February sessions are called Comfy Couch sessions and will take place around a fun blue couch. March sessions will be a repeat of the very first Pawsitivity sessions called World At My Feet. I've been told multiple times over the years that this was a hands down favorite so we're going to do it again so others can enjoy it. This session features your dog sitting, standing and laying at your feet. You'll wear your favorite shoes or those that represent you and your dog best. I hope you'll consider joining us for one of these fundraising events supporting 605 Roots! 🐾🛋️👠

The Pawsitivity fundraiser sessions will be the weekends of Feb 24-25th and March 9-10th. I'll post more specifics about them tomorrow, but today I want to tell you about the nonprofit that will benefit from this year's event.

It's always a struggle for me to choose a charity for the Pawsitivity Fundraiser Sessions, but I am thrilled and honored to introduce you to the non-profit who will benefit from the fun you all have at the sessions this year.

This year's recipient is 605 Roots! They are a non-profit where Draper Sensory therapy is used to help balance the body and brain through the use of horses.

At 605 Roots Jenny and Josh Eggers see individuals that suffer from traumas such as PTSD, s*x trafficking, victims of physical abuse, those struggling with addiction, as well as kids in the foster system, individuals who struggle with self esteem, or those who just struggle to find happiness in their life.

605 Roots was formed in 2020 as a part time, nonprofit. Jenny & Josh wanted to help friends and family, but never wanted money to get in the way of them receiving the help they needed. They had no idea that it would be so well received and needed in the community.

Jenny says that when people come to them, they are stuck in that flight, fight or freeze zone. They aren't able to get to the pre-frontal cortex of their brain which is the part that allows someone to make rational decisions and think clearly. Traditional therapies assume that they can make rational, logical decisions with the information that they're given, but these individuals just can't get there.

With the use of horses that are specifically trained for Draper Sensory therapy, Jenny helps to neutralize the stress on the brain. While the individual is in a very slow trot, Jenny can tell from the way their body moves what parts of the brain are tired, weak and not connecting. She then uses specific skills to help connect those neuro pathways. Once the cortazol is lifted off the pre-frontal cortex and the brain is balanced, the person can then focus, reason, and remember in a way they couldn't before. This allows traditional therapy (like talk therapy) to be more successful.

For this program there's no need to know what the problems are for an individual. For people like those who suffer from PTSD or traumatic situations, this is the most noninvasive form of therapy that they could receive when they can't open up about what happened. After Draper Sensory therapy they are then able to move on and get the help they need.

Jenny says, "deep roots are essential to weather any storm, and that is exactly what we teach individuals through our horses. They learn the importance of boundaries, communication and identity to name a few." Jenny is a certified life coach and equine specialist. Her belief is that "each one of us has something amazing to offer this world and it's my honor to help individuals see their strength. As we connect the head and heart they will begin to dream and thrive in life, instead of just surviving.

I encourage you to take a look at the 605 Roots website where you'll also find a short video highlighting two 605 Roots sessions.

Horseback Miracles@605 Roots is a horse assisted therapy non-profit aimed at helping people reduce stress, alleviate chronic symptoms of PTS, depression, anxiety and other forms of difficulties.

Sometimes you find yourself in the right place at the right time AND have your camera with you. Snow sessions are done for now and we were treated to this site at the end of a trifecta yesterday. It's not dogs, but I think it's beautiful. ❄️❄️

What? No more snow days? Not right now, but this was fun wasn't it! ❤️🐾❄️
