CAN YOU HELP BASIL PLEASE? NOW URGENT - IN UK - FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER

This is Basil and he is looking for a new furever home or a foster family who understand nervous dogs. He is a very loving boy, but does have a nervous disposition.

He is 4 years old, neutered, sweet natured, loving and a funny, goofy lad. He loves to play and will bring you his toys in the hope you will interact with him. Fetch and tug are his favourite games and he loves enrichment exercises as he is quite a clever boy and needs to be kept busy.

Basil would be happiest in a quiet home somewhere in the countryside as he loves to be out exploring on long walks. He particularly enjoys running and jumping through long grass and digging at the beach!

He is quiet in the house and enjoys time alone for a snooze if you need to go out for a while. Basil does lack confidence and can be easily startled by sudden movement and sensitive to loud noise, so we are looking for a quiet, calm environment for Basil to help his anxiety.

He is crate trained and will take himself off to relax in his safe place, although he does enjoy a nap on the bed as well!

He could live with another dog and he interacts best with females, so we would suggest female only. He is a little shy when meeting new humans and can take a little while to trust, but once he has, you are greeted with lots of tail wags and kisses. Basil is funny, loyal and playful and has so much to offer the people he trusts.

Handsome Marlo was rescued at just 3 months old, found wondering at the edge of a very busy road with his friend Blanco. He is now safe at our shelter, has been neutered and had all of his vaccinations and bags packed ready to find his forever home.
Marlo is such a fun and energetic boy with a lot of love to give. He can be a little wary of new people to begin with but once he knows you is very friendly. He loves exploring, playing with toys and adores splashing and playing in water.
Marlo likes making doggy friends out and about but can be a bit protective of his home and would like this for himself, so we feel he would do best being homed as an only dog in the house.
He is learning to walk on a lead though this will take a bit more practice when he gets to his new home.
Marlo is still a young boy with his whole life ahead of him. He deserves a home and family to call his own. Could you be the active adventurous family he can enjoy playing and exploring with?

Scotty is a very handsome boy and has spent most of his life in a shelter; he is really hoping his furever home is coming very soon. He is a very friendly and affectionate boy who loves cuddles and will jump up for hugs and kisses. He walks well on the lead and loves to explore. For his age he still has plenty of energy so a home in the countryside with long walks would suit him well.

Rania is a friendly girl who has been patiently waiting a long time to find her forever family. She is good with people but we feel that Rania would be best suited to being an only dog as she likes some dogs but not all other dogs. She was born around December 2012. Rania is medium size.

Claude was rescued from a Public Shelter in March 2019 with 5 other dogs, the last ones remaining from the Kill List. From the start Claude has been a very friendly dog with people and other dogs. He is thrilled to see visitors and seeks out attention. He just loves people! He is described as a real character. Claude is medium size, he is neutered. He was born in approx May 2017. He had a dreadful time in the Public Shelter but remained so friendly.

Tammy is an absolute sweetheart. She is a happy soul who will shower you with affection, so if you want a joyful companion, read on! She is great with people and loves attention and fuss. She loves to explore but has medium energy levels so will do so in a paced way, just taking it all in. She walks well on a lead so with a short amount of time to settle and adjust she is ready to slot into a home waiting for a fur baby to be very much a part of that.
She gets on well with other dogs. If there is a resident dog, she would like to be top dog, so best if they are submissive to her confident waggy ways! Cats are of a fascination to her, so no cats or small animals in the home! With her lovely personality, she would settle in very well as an only dog and fill that doggy shaped space on your sofa very happily and contentedly….as long as she was getting cuddles of course!

Toffee is one of Queenie’s pups and sibling to Charlie and Salem. The family were found at the side of a busy road full of fleas and ticks and awaiting the worst. She is now in the loving care of the shelter team in Romania and getting all the love and attention she deserves. Toffee is making good progress and is less shy than she was a few months back, but still a little reserved until she feels comfortable with new people. She enjoys cuddles, kisses and Tummy rubs. Toffee is accepting the harness, but will need more work with lead walking. Toffee is currently sharing a kennel with Charlie. She loves to be outside playing and exploring. Toffee would benefit from a home with a resident confident, friendly dog.

Charlie is the only male pup from Queenie’s litter and is sibling to Toffee and Salem. The family were found full of fleas and ticks in a garbage area at the side of a busy road. Thankfully, they were found by the RRA team who took them back to the shelter and they are now getting all the love and attention they deserve.

Charlie is the most confident of the siblings he is medium size. He is very playful and energetic and very friendly with people. He loves a tummy tickle and playing with his sibling Toffee.

LILAH - IN UK - FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER -

Meet Lilah. She is a wonderful character. She is originally from Romania but has been in UK since a pup. She is looking for a new home, ideally with people who are experienced with rescue dogs and particularly those who could help with her sensitivities and certain anxieties. Lilah is the most affectionate and loving dog and once she trusts you, you could not ask for a better dog. She loves tummy rubs, playing with toys and is highly intelligent and enjoys learning tricks and playing games. She loves agility and would like to learn more.

Lilah is 8 years old, very pretty, spayed and up to date with vaccinations. She is currently living with another dog who she adores, but she may be best rehomed as an only dog as she is dog reactive, but if introduced carefully to a calm dog she should come around as her reactivity is fear based. She has only lived with males.

She would definitely chase small furries, so could not live with cats.

She is nervous of strangers especially if they come to the house and needs someone experienced to help her manage this. Because of this she would need an adult only home.

She is fine in the car and also on public transport. Just to be careful she is happy wearing a muzzle in busy places. She is not worried by noise or fireworks.

SKYE - FOR ADOPTION

Sweet, loving Skye is looking for her new home.

She is a really sweet and loving girl, but is a little shy and can be anxious in certain situations. She loves people and will be a little shy at first, but once her human has gained her trust she will not leave their side as she likes to be near all the time. She’s a bit of a chatterbox, loves tummy rubs and as much fuss as you can give. She understands some commands and can be a little too enthusiastic with kisses!

Outside on walks she can be anxious and is best walked in quieter places to help her relax. She will generally avoid other people and dogs and has a particular dislike of bikes or anything with wheels.

Skye would be best rehomed in a quiet, calm home, preferably in the countryside, as an only dog, no cats or children. She would love the undivided attention of her new human all to herself! This little slip of a girl with the beautiful smile is Crissy. We found her in a large open area of land in the middle of nowhere, with no access to shelter, no food source and no fresh water. How she got there we’ll never know - scared, alone and pregnant, found in a place where she could never hope to fend for herself or her babies - we will never know what she suffered before we found her.

But that was then…..since coming to us Crissy has had four beautiful babies and has been the most wonderful mum. The pups are now 6 months old and it’s time for Crissy to find her own special people and her own home.

A little shy when first meeting new people, once she feels safe she is loving and playful, she is good with other dogs, and of course that smile!

We would love Crissy to be travelling to her new Family/Person soon. She deserves the chance to enjoy the comforts of a loving home.

UPDATE: Puppy now has a name! Everyone meet Pearl 🥰 This little sweetie is not only looking for a generous monthly sponsor but also for a name! She is almost two months old, and just like her Mum Peggy, has hip dysplasia, so is not currently ready for her forever home. It is likely that she is going to have to have some surgery in her future, making sponsorships and donations all the more important. There are still people in this world who can throw little pups, just over a month old, out on the road without any conscience. This time very close to our shelter. Our Mihaela found them, taken from the mummy and abandoned. They are 3 boys, full of fleas and ticks, with empty bellies and in so much need of care. They are safe now and love from our team will help to cure the heartbreak of abandonment. But they need more than that, they need treatment to help them with parasites and of course food, medical checks, vaccinations.... we have no funds, but we couldn't abandon them as well. Our Story

Romanian Rescue Appeal was founded by Lindsey Church in March 2014.

The Romanian Rescue Appeal brings together a team of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from the awful situations they face in Romania. It is run by the trustees and volunteers, with the support of several other experienced rescuers in the UK. and Romania. Our aim is to find loving new homes for the dogs that we rescue .

We are in the process of building our own Rescue Centre in Tecuci, Romania. This will enable us to provide the care needed for the dogs destined to die in the Public shelters.

We rely totally on donations and fund raising events. Our main platform to raise donations is via Facebook. Without the support of the supporters on here, our dogs would have nothing. We have found loving homes for over a thousand dogs since our start.
