Lovely Lora, a friendly and affectionate girl who thrives on human attention and cherishes every precious moment spent with the team at our shelter.

Energetic and curious, she eagerly awaits those rare moments when she can leave her kennel to walk, sniff, and explore - everything which a dog in a loving home enjoys every day. We have so many dogs at the shelter that we cannot give every dog the time they crave out of their kennel and we can see that Lora is desperate for a home where she can be in the company of her own people and turn every precious outing into an adventure.

Lora is not comfortable with other dogs or cats so would prefer to be the sole furry friend in the house. Such a happy and loving girl, she would make a wonderful companion to any family.

Please help Lora leave the shelter behind. Yes she is safe and yes she is loved, but happiness is not life in a kennel, happiness is a home.

Our next 'J' is for the gorgeous Jasper!

Jasper was rescued from the harsh conditions of Breasta Public Shelter in June 2016, and he has been waiting ever since for a chance to know the love and comfort of a real home. Born in 2012, Jasper is a medium-sized boy with a kind heart and a gentle soul.

He gets along well with people and is good with most other dogs, showing his friendly and easy-going nature. Jasper currently lives with his friend Yasmin, sharing his days with her as they wait for their new beginnings.

Our next 'J' is for the handsome Jimmy!

Jimmy’s journey began when he was rescued from a public shelter in July 2019. Born in 2013, he has faced many challenges, but has shown incredible resilience and a desire to trust again. Though shy with people, Jimmy is making steady progress with time and patience. Each small step he takes is a testament to his bravery and his hope for a brighter future.

MEET PHOENIX he is a handsome boy who is full of character. He is medium size and aapprox 17kg. He is 7 years old. He has a gorgeous coat and soulful eyes.

Phoenix loves a warm cosy bed and enjoys receiving love and attention. Once he knows and trusts his people, he is always so excited to see any family member and enjoys a cuddle and tummy tickle. He can live with other dogs, but he prefers dogs that aren’t too full on, as he likes his own space. Phoenix can’t live with cats as he gets over stimulated by furry or feathered animals that move.

He walks nicely on his harness and lead. He is very food focused and gets so excited when his food is ready that he literally jumps completely off the ground.

He would like a quiet home (no children) with a secure garden to play in and in an area where he can enjoy countryside walks. Phoenix is in foster near Bordon GU35.

We are in desperate need of foster homes to help our dogs take the next step towards their forever families. Fosterers are absolutely integral to our rescue work - especially as our shelter is in Romania, prospective adopters can't exactly pop in for meet ups prior to adoption!

By fostering, you give a dog the chance to adjust to home life, helping them build confidence and learn the comforts of being part of a family. It’s a life-changing experience - not just for them, but for you too!

We know many people say they couldn't foster because saying goodbye would be too hard, but imagine this: you are the reason a dog finds their forever home. You are the bridge between a life in a shelter and a life filled with love. And when they leave on the happy bus to travel to you? You have freed up a kennel, meaning we can rescue another desperate soul from the streets or public shelters. Your kindness saves lives.

It just feels like one piece of bad news after another at the moment. We are so incredibly sad to let you all know that we lost our beautiful boy, Murdoch, yesterday.

One of our oldest residents, Murdoch was born around 2008 and had been with us for almost six years after being rescued from a public shelter. He may never have found his forever home, but he was deeply loved and cherished by his shelter family every single day.

Murdoch lived with his dear friend Jingles, who will be feeling his loss just as much as we are.

We thank every single one of our supporters - it is because of you that dogs like Murdoch get to live out their days in safety, with a full belly surrounded by love. Even if they never find a home of their own, they will always have this home, this family.

Run free, Murdoch. You will be missed beyond words.

This is the update we never wanted to share. With the heaviest hearts, we have to let you all know that, on the vet’s advice, we have had to say goodbye to our beautiful Roxy.

Since her stroke, she showed no improvement - unable to move, unable to even lift her head. Despite all the love and care she received, there was nothing more we could do for her. She was only eight.

We are beyond devastated. Roxy was so full of life, joy and love, and it is utterly heartbreaking to lose her far too soon; and this is the girl we choose to remember, the Roxy in the photos. Thank you to everyone who supported her, loved her, and cared for her.

Our thoughts are especially with her human family at the shelter, who not only cared for her every single day but loved her through her stroke and vet stay. Their hearts are broken, and ours are too.

Run free, sweet girl. You will always be in our hearts.

This happy and extremely loving girl is Darcy. She arrived at our shelter in a heartbreaking condition suffering from severe eye infections, mange and a deformed front paw - all sad reminders of the trauma and cruelty so often inflicted upon stray dogs in Romania, and something which we will never know if Darcy had to endure.

With treatment she has regained her health and a joy for life, and none of what she has suffered holds her back. She can walk, run and jump like any dog and more especially her love for humans shines through - she showers affection on everyone she meets and forms special bonds with those she trusts. Darcy adores humans but is unsure of other dogs and could not live with cats, she therefore needs to be homed as an only dog.

Sadly, Darcy’s body will always carry the scars of her past, but look beyond the physical scars to her nature within and you will find a loyal and true soulmate in this incredibly loving girl.
