🐾Meet Frank! Named after the legendary Frank Sinatra, our handsome boy is here to charm you with his striking blue eyes and sweet disposition. At two years old, Frank has the energy and heart of a puppy, ready to be your best mate on each new adventure. 🐾

🎾 Frank loves playtime, especially with his favorite spiky squish balls. He is always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war, too. His excitement for walks is adorable—he spins in circles and sniffs everything in sight. Frank loves each new day and takes it all in with joy and a little silliness.

💙 Frank is a sweetheart who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, humans, and cats. He's excellent with kids and recently impressed his foster family by playing nicely with children aged 4-10. 📣 Introducing Phoebe! This adorable girl is a sweet and lovable Heeler puppy. She has lots of energy, loves to play, and is ready to find her forever home, a home as active and excited about adventuring and playing as she is. Phoebe is crate-trained and mostly potty-trained; she knows to go outside but needs regular opportunities if not crated.

🥰 Phoebe is very food-motivated, which has made her basic training a breeze. She knows how to sit and is currently working on “lay down” and “stay.” She also walks well on a leash. Phoebe is great in the car and loves to go for a ride with her foster mom.

🐾 Phoebe has done some socializing and warms up to people quickly, especially if treats are involved. She gets along well with her foster brother but is untested with other dogs, cats, or small children.

🧸 At just 4.5 months old, she is intelligent and eager to learn. Phoebe would benefit from puzzle dishes or toys that challenge her. She would likely excel in agility work, given her intelligence and energy.

♥️ The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we are able to save. By fostering, you give a temporary home to a dog that would have otherwise been euthanized or abandoned and help prepare them for their new life.

🏡 When fostering a TCDR dog, you provide the love, attention, and safe temporary home for a heeler in need. You also have a say in your foster's ultimate home. Foster assignments tend to be short term while a dog recovers from surgery, undergoes heartworm treatment, or waits for a forever home. TCDR pays for veterinary care and heartworm and flea preventative for foster dogs.

🙌 Y’all, we’ve had a lot of good news this week, so it’s only fitting we end it with THE BEST news! BINGO HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN ADOPTED 🐾🥳

💜 Last year, Bingo’s foster family opened their hearts and homes to Bingo, who was on death row in a North Texas shelter. Since then, they have patiently waited for the perfect match to come along, but the perfect match had already happened. Bingo was already home with his forever family. This week, Bingo’s foster family officially signed his adoption papers. Call it foster failure, destiny, or whatever you want. We call it Bingo’s best day ever!

🥹 Bingo is one of the sweetest boys ever, and he's been adopted by one of the best families ever! We are so happy for everyone and grateful for their willingness to take a chance on Bingo all those months ago. We feel sure Bingo is the most thankful of all!

🐾 Here’s some happy news we are excited to share! Our handsome sweetheart, Toby, has found his forever family! These smiles say more than we ever could about the perfection in this match!

🥰 Toby has a new Mom, Dad, and two cattle dog sisters! They’ve been having fun on walkies, showing him his new neighborhood, and having cuddle sessions at home.

🩵 A lot of time, love, and patience went into this match. First, we are beyond grateful for the effort and commitment Toby’s new family has put into adopting. As you might recall, Toby is deaf and was being fostered by The Texas Dogfather to help him learn pack life, hand signals, and all his good-boy manners. Toby’s family is exactly who we wished for him to find.

🙏 We also greatly appreciate The Texas Dogfather and all the trainers there who worked with Toby daily, preparing him for this moment.

🫶 Finally, our adoption team and volunteers went above and beyond to help Toby get his much-deserved fresh start and perfect home.

🤠 We are so thankful for everyone who helped share Toby’s story from the day he hitched a ride with Pilots N Paws from a small shelter in north Texas until he found his people and pack. We appreciate you and absolutely could not do it without you!

📣 Good news pupdate!

We love a sweet update from our adopters, and not much is sweeter than a boy and his dog! 🥰🐾

Remember beautiful Daphne (now Dixie)? She found her forever person, family, and home. This girl now lives on a beautiful ranch in Texas and has an incredible boy to adventure, love, and cuddle with forever! Dixie and her favorite boy do everything together. They bonded immediately and are the best of friends. 🐶🤠

We wish Dixie and her new family a lifetime of happy, fun, and love! Thank you for choosing to adopt Dixie from TCDR! 🫶

Um, have you ever seen a cuter head tilt? 🥹

Everyone meet Eden! 🐾

🥰 Eden is a young, happy heeler puppy looking for her forever home! This precious girl loves her people and toys and is incredibly smart. Eden has learned to use a dog door and ramp like a pro and is excellent in her crate. She has made significant progress with house training, going several days without any accidents. Eden is also working on basic obedience skills such as sit, down, and stay, and with a little more practice, she'll master them all!

🐾 Eden gets along well with other dogs, and although she hasn't been around cats, she is young and should adapt quickly to a feline friend. She sleeps through the night in her crate and stays there when her foster mom is away. Eden is also crate-trained for car rides.

🐶 At just 15 weeks old and weighing 11 pounds, Eden will likely be on the smaller side for a heeler when fully grown. She is current on all vaccinations and preventatives. Eden is spayed and heartworm-negative. She is being fostered in San Angelo, TX.

🎆 When making plans this Fourth of July, remember to plan for your pets. Lost pets increase by 30% around the Fourth. On average, only 14% are returned to their owners. As much as we may enjoy fireworks this time of year, our pets rarely do.

🐶 Here are some easy ways to keep them safe:

🏡 It’s best to keep them inside and with you if possible. Make sure they have access to a place where they feel safe. You can play music or ambient sounds to help block the loud booms and bangs outside.

🆔 Take a few seconds to check those collars. Make sure they fit correctly and that your contact information is on the tag and up to date. If your pet is microchipped, ensure the contact information on file is current.

🐾 No tags? Write your phone number and your pet’s name on a piece of duct tape and place it on their collar.

😎 Most importantly, act normal. If pets sense that you are confident and relaxed, they will be too!

A few quick steps can help ensure everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Giddy up, y’all! We’ve got puppies from the Wild West, and they are ready to lasso your heart! 🤠

🩷 Introducing Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Belle Star, Stagecoach Mary, and Lily Langtree! These darlings were born in April and will be ready for their forever homes in mid-July. TCDR rescued this litter and their Mom. We will vaccinate, spay, and microchip each puppy before adoption.

🐶 Mama is a Heeler, but we aren’t sure who the daddy is. He must have been hanging out too long in the pup saloon, and Mama Ida May kicked him to the curb like an old tumbleweed. What we do know is they are sweet, big, and fluffy!

It might not officially be summer on the calendar, but it’s definitely summertime in Texas! And there’s no better way to spend your summer than with your best, good dog. 🐶 We want you to enjoy every minute. Here are a few easy tips to keep your dog safe and healthy this summer:

⛱️ 💧 Make sure your pets have unlimited access to fresh water and shade when outside.

🚙 Never leave your pet in the car, even in the shade or with cracked windows.

🥵 If it’s hot outside for you, it’s even hotter for your pet.

🐾 If it’s too hot for your bare feet on the sand, sidewalk, road, or trail, it’s too hot for them. Paw pads easily and quickly burn on hot pavement.

🐕‍🦺 Exercise during the cooler parts of the day.
