This was hard to get a picture of but I had to try. Unmounted lesson day due to heat index. I have a student who LOVES baseball (but not as much as he loves his horse, Chief, he says). So I created a baseball diamond in the arena. He had to lead Chief to each “base” and complete a task before moving on. He “knocked it out of the park!” ⚾️

Thank you to those of you who scheduled make up lessons this week! We had to close for a couple days due to the storm. This greatly affects our ability to afford necessities for our horses such as grain and medications. Make up lessons help us recover some of those costs!

Anyone want a barn cat??? I finally caught our feral cat who made himself home here. He is at pets alive for his neuter and vaccines but I pick him up tomorrow morning. We already have a couple barn cats so if anyone wants him please let me know before 10am tomorrow. Otherwise he will be rereleased on our farm and I’m not going to try to catch him again. He was NOT happy about the trap and scraped his face and paws up.

Ok families, the weather does not look favorable for lessons the next couple days…. IF we close, I will contact you via text! I will likely open up Thursday and Friday spots (as well as part of the weekend if anyone wants to brave eclipse traffic) for make ups!!

Today I planned activities and structured Caleb’s ride (up until now we have just been working on his speech and getting him used to the horse). He talked almost non stop throughout his ride and had a great time clipping bows in Chiefs mane and finding all of the ladybugs. He also held his reins a lot of his ride!

Thank you Angie and Helen for being a great team for Caleb and Chief!
