Show: Mid-Western Gundog Society
Date: 17th October 2021
Breed: Golden Retrievers
Judge: Mr Bob lane
Thank you to the committee and my steward, John, for looking after me today. Although I was not initially listed to judge golden retrievers, I had a very good day at the show. I was asked to judge this entry at the last minute as the allocated judge did not turn up due to the fact she said she was unwell.

1st Clunieâs Warrentor Bold As Brass
A 7-month-old mid-gold puppy. He has a lot of enthusiasm, with good angulation fore and aft. Well off for bone and substance, tight feet and shown in good condition. Moving very well, I was pleased to award him Best Puppy in Breed.

1st Priceâs Kadaka Crossword For Palton
A nice dog with a pleasing head and expression with correct pigmentation. He is well off for bone and substance, has adequate shoulders and a good return of upper arm. I would prefer a little more muscle tone which would improve his movement but nevertheless a quality dog.
2nd Collisâ Merimoor Outlander At Dorwinion
A well-presented dog shown in good coat and good bend of stifle, well-let down hocks and straight pasterns. He again, is a little too heavy and needs more muscle tone which would improve the dog overall.

A balanced youngster, with a pleasing head, expression, pigmentation and balanced foreface to skull. He has a good reach of neck, level top-line with correct tail-set. He also has well let-down hocks and moved well. I was pleased to award him Best Dog and Reserve Best of Breed.
Puppy Bitch (6 entries, 2 abs)
1st Falconerâs Soneve Simply Special for Siatham
Two very close bi***es headed this class. The first is a very young, pale bitch who was well made and presented with a pleasing head and outline. She moved well when she settled down but needs a little more time to come to her best.
2nd Culnieâs Warrentor Second to None
This puppy was close to first with the same attributes but again needs a little more time. Standing she is a little âbumâ high but this will almost certainly drop as she matures and her stifles improve. She looked very good on the move with good rear extension. She will, no doubt, improve with time.

This bitch has a most pleasing outline. She is extremely well balanced, has well-laid shoulders, adequate upper arm, level top-line and correct tail-set. She has a good width of thigh with strong hocks and straight back pasterns. She moved and showed very well; just a little heavy on the day for me.

Open Bitch (3 entries, 1 abs)
1st Turnerâs Grain Of Goldâs Arwen Of Amilone (Imp Swe) SGWC
Standing she presents a attractive outline. She has perfectly straight forelegs, a well-sprung rib, level top-line and equally good quarters. She moved a extremely well, particularly for an 8-year-old.
2nd Rees Catenae Darling Buds of May JW
A very pleasing well-chiselled head, straight front, good in top-line. She has very nicely angulated quarters and she moved quite well. I just preferred the movement of first today.
