Avalon For Animals is the parent organization partnering with Rescue For Earth Angels for both the promotion of animal welfare, care, rights, rescue and finding good, safe, loving forever homes for a diversity of animals including domestic pets,a diversity of wildlife globally, farm animals and marine life. The founder of Avalon For Animals is also the founder of Rescue For Earth Animals, both being located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Animal Compassion Everywhere

On November 4th, 2011 a severely emaciated, cold, abused, and injured dog wandered into an Ace Hardware store located at McNichols and Oakland in Detroit.

When Ace wandered into the lobby of the hardware store he was not aggressive or dangerous. He was hungry, scared, hurt, and alone. Ace walked into the store to get help, looking for warmth and compassion.

Despite a plethora of emails from as far away as Norway and Germany, the best efforts of area rescue groups, and supporters who rallied on Ace's FB page with adoption offers and donations, Ace was euthanized on November 10th, 2011.

Today, as we mourn Ace, let’s make sure that his death was not in vain. Let us make this moment when things changed for the better. Let us say that this was a moment where we as a community stood up to say that no longer will we allow dogs to go hungry. No longer will we allow ours to be a community where dogs are neglected or abused. No longer will we allow our cities to be havens for people who fight dogs for profit.
