I’m sure everyone here is familiar with Baby and her story. She was found running in Sheppton for 3 months until she was finally able to be secured by police and taken to Mommy & Me Rescue. She was taken to the vet to be evaluated. The vet recommended euthanizing her because she was in such poor health and 20+ pounds underweight.
After some discussion we decided to bring her into FIDOS, since this would be the best chance at reversing the damage that had been done to her poor body. We started the process of feeding her 6 very small meals a day until we could get her on a normal eating schedule. The vet was shocked when he saw her 2 months after her arrival to FIDOS and stated that FIDOS saved Baby’s life, there’s no way she would have thrived like this without her handler and the program!
We had Baby in FIDOS for 5 months and she THRIVED!!
No matter how frail she was and how many people failed her time and time again her tail never stopped wagging and she consistently sought out love and affection from EVERYONE!
Fast forward to March 14, 2025 Baby was finally adopted into an amazing loving home and now has a fur-brother named Rebel. Here is an update from her new forever family:
She's a smart little bugger....I think she is loving her freedom! She has not spent one minute in her crate. She sleeps on a dog bed and blanket on our bedroom floor because the bed is too high, she can't jump up on it. Friday night was a little rough at first because Rebel forgot he met her already...but til Saturday there was no barking or growling! And that tail of hers won't stop wagging, she actually keeps whacking Rebel in the face with it 😂. He just looks at her sideways when she does it, then he looks at me like, "really Mom??". She is loving exploring the farm...she's smelling and checking everything out. And she's a fast runner...Rebel is so fat he can't keep up with her. She loves the steps in our house, she keeps going up and down them trying to decide who she's going to talk to and sit by. I will email you some pictures that I took! I think it's safe to say she's pretty happy!
