PPR is a hobby rabbitry focusing is on mini-lop and Lionhead bunnies. Our involvement started with our daughters wanting to be a part of 4H and showing in ARBA (American Rabbit Breeder Association) shows, back in 2017. Specifically, due to their sweet loving temperament as well as their small size for kids to handle and be involved with. Our rabbits are held from the time they are born until they
leave to go to new homes. Each breed is different in many ways. We only breed to the breed standard for type, temperament, personality and health. We breed our rabbits for quality to improve the breed, health and temperament. They have constant interaction with us, they are very friendly and always loved. Please keep in mind that we do not always have 'pet' rabbits, we raise our rabbits for show, we don't always know if they will be kept for show/brood until they are closer to 10-12 weeks, sometimes longer. No animals are able to leave before they are 8 weeks old. (This is state law) Please visit our webpage and agree to our sales policy before inquiring. I also run (along with Bernae Rogers) the Rabbit 4H group at Cornell Cooperative Ext. of Albany County. We educate youth about rabbits, their care, showmanship and appropriate breeding practices to better the breed. Decided to wait a bit longer on growing out our Compound’s mini lops. Picking who stays and who goes is such a hard decision when you breed for the right reasons. 💕
Same when we have a litter of lab puppies. Get attached.
I’ll know more in the coming weeks of who will be available. I will reach out to those who I’ve spoken/messaged soon.

We had 3 lionheads born the other day. 💙
Sadly one is a “peanut” and will not make it.
The other 2 are thriving and growing beautifully.
As a breeder there is always the good the bad and the sad. 😞
I will post more about these two babies as they continue to develop

I’ve never kept so many from one litter but am going to grow them all out to see how they turn out.
Names by default because of the 🍺 😝
So we have Corona, Enchilada, chimichanga, Dos Equis, tamales and Modelo.

Well voila! 💗😝🤣
1-Just wish he wasn’t neutered (because he’s amazing)
2- Yes 🤦🏼♀️ I sold him as a pet (IYKYK)
3- I think he may have suffered a stroke the one really hot day we had. Hence the crooked smile. 🤷♀️
(Looking into this more as he is perfectly healthy otherwise)
This amazing boy may be looking for a special 🏡 🤞

How to identify each one and learning the variety names.
My name is Katie Kirk and I have been raising rabbits for 14 years. I have been a member of the ARBA, ADRC, OSDRC for 16 years. I have raised Dutch primarily focusing on grays; but also blacks, chocolates, and steels. I have recently started raising chestnut and black otter Netherland Dwarfs. In 2017, I received my Registrar’s license. As a youth, I competed in royalty at OSRBA Mini Convention, National Dutch Show, and ARBA Convention several times. These contests helped with building study routines, networking, and teamwork. I also took on leadership positions throughout my youth such as President of OSRBA Youth Team, Youth Director of ADRC and OSRDC, and Youth D8 Director. These competitions and leadership positions helped prepare me for college and life after college. I recently finished my college degrees in Biology and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, I took a break from rabbits during my college career to focus on my studies. I recently started my full-time job at Jones Lake Management and started my herd again this past September.

Sibling snuggles. Little road trip to Lake Placid for the weekend.
Almost had a heart attack lol IYKYK 😜 These babies are the sweetest and have been hand fed since day 1. The black tort buck “died” twice so considering him a miracle. 🤦🏼♀️ He’s healthy and doing great.
So Magnolias milk never came in. Feeding 6 babies 2x day for the past 12 days has been both exhausting yet so fulfilling! Knowing this litter was in trouble, we’ve been monitoring them closely. All growing great and thriving. Needless to say they will be well handled 🤣 and love people. Doing everything we can is what good breeders do. And it’s not for the faint of heart. (If this was puppies I’d be crying with every 2hr feedings 🤪) One of Mag’s babies we fostered to Boo-doing great. A few days after her litter Tyra had 2 on the wire, well one on the floor. He lived!! And is a total piggie lol can’t wait to keep you all posted with this litter and watching them grow.
