Boone’s papilloma was actually disabling him from being able to close his mouth completely on the right side and made it hard for both of them to chew their food, but they just kept on keeping on and powered through. We are so super excited to see them finally shine and eat without PAIN. The funds we raise will help pay for their surgery and allow them to live the lives they deserve and were always meant to have. Meet Mikey 🐾 I am loyal, well mannered, obedient and just happy at the prospect of being your new best friend! I am an 8 year old, 80ish lb Labrador mix who is sadly on the ballot again because my BESTEST HUMAN is very sick and wanted to make sure that I landed in a new forever home that will LOVE me as much as he does! ENDORSEMENTS FROM MY BESTEST HUMAN & LOVING FOSTER... DAD - "He is well loved, mild mannered and well-behaved and is just happy to be alive. I really wish for him to have a good home. He is a loving dog. He loves his pets! He is even tempered. He doesn't growl or bark. He is a little awkward because he has big feet and when he tries to jump, sometimes he trips over his own feet but that's his only flaw. He walks right by your side and comes to a call or whistle. He is not an alpha male. He is extremely afraid of storms, though. If he is outside, he really wants to come inside when it is storming. But he is happy to sit quietly if someone pets him and keeps him calm. We don't have children around, so I can only guess since he's good with everyone but we do not know. He is totally unaware of the dangers of cars and he should be kept in a fenced area. He has no concept of the dangers of the road. He was a rescue so we have no idea what his life was like before last year, but he is a lovable dog who is just happy to be alive. He is well loved and it breaks my heart to let him go but I just can't take care of him and he needs a loving home". FOSTER MOM - "He LOVES to be loved and is a gentle giant! He gets along well with our two other dogs and will play with them in very short spurts. He is very laid back. I work from home most of the week and he will lay on his bed by my desk while I do. Meet Liza & Layla Liza & Layla are a bonded pair of Bernedoodle pups, about 4 months old who were likely dumped by a breeder in a rural area and survived for about a month by being fed by farmers in the area until GRRAND was notified and asked to help them! It was very hard capturing them as they are so fearful, but after one getting away, and then found again, we have them both and are trying to help them understand they do not have to fend for themselves and what love is all about! THEY MUST HAVE A SECURE ABOVE GROUND FENCED IN YARD as they are fearful and flight risks, and a home with NO KIDS UNDER the age of 16, as right now, the GRRAND kennel staff say IF you stand very still, and very quiet, they may come up and take a piece of food from you, but they take off again. They are starting to come around and trust people and need a home with folks who have lots of patience and are willing to work with them over time to teach them about life as indoor loved family members. We would be willing to consider separating the littermates, but do not want to leave one behind in the kennel if her sister was to leave, so we are looking for a home that would take both of them and either adopt them as a pair or adopt one and foster the other until another home could be found for her. If separated, the pups will definitely need homes with another confident young dog that can help them gain their own confidence and show them the ropes. They BOTH LOVE playing with other dogs! Meet HollyMore Positive Progress to Report..Holly is one of the Amish dogs that GRRAND took in December 2022. In December 2023 she found the perfect home but SADLY her new mom passed away unexpectedly and she had to come back to GCS where she was understandably confused and sad.FAST FORWARD TO OCTOBER OF 2024!Holly went to a wonderful foster home recently and is starting to come out of her shell!Here is what her foster mom has to say...Holly is doing so well! She does great with my 2 dogs, plays and relaxes right beside them -“She’s a fabulous dog. Very obedient, goes right in the crate when asked. She’s still very timid and she will lay down if she is not sure what you want her to do. She’s getting BOLDER! She even went to my neighbor girl for pets. Holy has now allowed me to bath and groom her which is major progress! She is timid around everyone but will come to them for pets if they sit down and allow her to approach.”Can you open up your heart and home to this sweet special girl? She is as beautiful on the inside as the outside and deserves to know the unwavering love of a forever family.As with most Amish dogs, Holly will need a special safe, calm home where their person has an abundance of patience. Meet Willy Willy is a goldendoodle but he may be just a little kangaroo as well. Bouncing around is his preferred method of moving around! Willy is very new to GRRAND but here is what his foster mom has to say… He is Super Friendly and gets along with all of our dogs especially our 9 month old puppy Raven. He is also quite interested in and gentle with our 20 year old cat. Took him all of 5 minutes to decide he likes it here. Just a happy, well adjusted pup. Knows basic commands - sit, stay, leave it. He is very close to being potty trained but he prefers not to potty in the rain. 😂 We don’t blame him one bit but we will be working to get him fully potty trained before he goes to his forever home. He still has a lot of puppy energy but just as happy as can be to hang out by your side while you work or watch tv after he has had his daily zoomies and wrestling matches with the other dogs. Willy has come along way on crate training at bed time and settles down after a few minutes once the light has been turned off. Willy is on a schedule and goes to bed around 9:30/10 pm and wakes up around 7:30am. He is getting better with leash walking on a harness and doesn’t pull but likes to sniff a lot. His favorite things are a human to cuddle with, chewing on Nyla bones and swimming in the pool. He is an all around #bestestboy! What are you waiting for?
