We are reaching out to rescue organizations, and the public. We are at max capacity. We have had a recent influx of large dogs, which has severely limited our housing capabilities. We are a "no kill" shelter, with several older dogs, and several "hard to place" dogs, such as German Shepherd, and Pit mix dogs. If you are able to help us place, foster, and/or adopt some of our dogs out, please let us know. In order for us, here at the shelter, be able to help the local dogs in need we MUST have the space to house more.

Indianapolis, IN: 🆘URGENT!!🆘 😩 FREYA MUST HAVE RESCUE, ADOPTION, OR FOSTER COMMITMENT BY 6:00pm FRIDAY DECEMBER 27th!💥🚩💜🧡💛Freya is extremely fearful at the shelter and is having a miserable time trying to adjust.😢PLEASE SHARE❗️

📣HAS $415 in PLEDGES FOR RESCUE!

Freya, A350186
Available for Rescue, Foster, or Adoption
Pit Bull Terrier Mix Adult Unaltered Female
4 Years Old & 55 lbs
Heartworm: Negative

UPDATE 12/18/24: Freya has been living in an office and while she is becoming comfortable with a couple of special friends, she is making little progress with strangers. We do not have the space or resources to focus on her socialization .

Freya’s journey was found wandering, emaciated, and fearful, wearing a purple collar. After weeks she was brought to the shelter. Freya was in poor health, with a wound on her leg, overgrown nails, and symptoms of Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease. While she’s made progress, Freya would thrive in a patient home where she can continue to heal and build confidence.

Lizzie is the perfect mix of sweetness and adventure. She has mastered the art of sitting politely, especially when treats are involved, and she loves going for walks to explore the world around her. “Christmas is frequently a time when pets are given as gifts. The so called ‘Christmas Dumpathon’ is a phenomenon animal shelters warn about. It's people giving back animals after receiving them as a present, realizing they're not ready for their four legged family member.” ~Author Unknown
