Six pound Roo may be tiny but what he lacks in body size he makes up for in ears! The holidays aren't always easy for everyone and naturally, with ears like that, Roo makes an incredible listener. He will be your companion, your shoulder to cry on, and he won't eat too much of your holiday takeout. He'll pour you a drink and watch game show reruns with you in the middle of the night. Roo is one of those unicorn chihuahuas that actually enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, so please, if you have room (he doesn't need much!), give us a call at 516-869-6311 or email us at [email protected] to request an adoption application.

Happy news!
Shadow, after waiting at the shelter for over 5 years, has been adopted into a wonderful, loving home. And to boot, they are previous adopters from the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter + The Shelter Connection!

The shelter staff has been in touch with the new family and they report that Shadow is settling in nicely and doing great.

I photographed Shadow (round 2, spruce up photos) in May 2023 and was surprised by how vibrant, energetic, and well mannered he was during our photo shoot. The family got a good one, and he got his lucky break! If I had even a little to do with this, I'm downright thrilled.

Wishing Shadow bones, snuggles, and much love with his new family. So happy for you, sweet boy! 🐾
