Walking in a natural environment is an essential element of any dog's learning. And the field at Harmonious Dogs is perfect, but bring your wellies!

Social walks in our private woods are not only fun, but also a part of your dogs' learning. The woods are designed with pathways to give a realistic woodland walk with other dogs.

To find out more you can come for a one to one session to see if our private field and woods are the environment you are looking for with your dog.

Dog Communication Poznan May 23

Had an amazing workshop in Poznan last weekend. I met some wonderful dogs, all special in their own way. It was lovely to see how, so many of them grew in self-confidence and begin to discover who they were as a person over the days we were together.

Everyone was genuinely interested in all of the dogs, creating a friendly atmosphere and giving support for each person and dog involved. For me, there were many highlights not only in the communication and growth between the dogs but, equally as important, the connection with their family.

Often, a workshop on Dog Communication does not take into consideration communication between the dogs and their family. But the relationship between us plays a vital part in our dog’s emotional wellbeing. And it was beautiful to see how friendships between them further developed over the few days, with many emotive moments.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to share this magical experience of enjoying together our passion for dogs.

Special thanks to Magda Urban-Gray for not only translating, but for making me so welcome and also for keeping me organized!

I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again in the Autumn.

It’s Not Training

It is most certainly planned learning.
What is the difference?
Us.
Our view, our mindset is the biggest hurdle to our own learning let alone that of our dogs.
Many of us can easily view the learning that is ahead of an eight week old pup. They will “need” to learn the difference between indoors and outdoors: places to p*e and get bonus rewards and places that don’t. It’s not house training, it’s certainly not house breaking, it is a build of the pup’s ability to memorise places of rewards and develop geographical awareness of their small world. This is a skill.
