Breeders don’t often speak about the challenge faced in trying to save a neonatal baby who is a fail to thrive.
We face sleepless nights day after day , we reassess our techniques, our animal husbandry, our skills , our routine. We lean on our friends for advice, we are a community connected by our love of the breed .
Then after weeks of no sleep we see these babies gain weight , meet milestones and become individuals capable of independent behaviour.
We then remember why we challenge ourselves to keep moving forward with our programs and helping those around us .
